I am myself.Me and my friends do stand out from the crowd,though.But we don't care.

Actually I am trying to act cool in real life, but really because I feel that I will be uninteresting to others and boring.

Because lets face it: too few people like talking about LotR or about things that I often ponder about.

Additionally, I dont like football (soccer) like 99,99999% of the male population in Greece, I cant stand listening about chicks (something 99,99999% percent of the male population talks about all the time), etc...

But the issue has gone out of control with me in the end not wanting to have frequent interaction with people because when that happens something inside me makes me pretend to be "cool" and I hate that. So I guess thats one reason I am socially awkward.

Nah I do usually hate popular things when they become trends, but not in the mindset of acting "cool".

I've always been myself and myself can only be defined by 'cool'. Everything I do or say results in someone saying, "Hey man, you're cool. Let me buy you a beer." to which I always respond, "I don't often drink beer, but when I do, I prefer XX". This is fact.

Sometimes the opposite sex will have me being someone I am not, but I generally come to my senses and realize if they dont like me for who I am then they are not worth my time in the long run

Cool is such a narrow word. I guess you could call me cool but it's because I have a different fashion from the average person, bot because I tryto fit in.

as someone that's part of the Gothic subculture, i could care less about how i'm "supposed" to look based on society's standards. The way that i dress is a reflection of my personality and displays how i feel inside. I know a lot of people including my sister have conformed to goth because they think it's "cool". But you know a tourist when you see one. And subcultures are no exception. I don't care what people think of me. I think if they're ignorant to harass me for the way that i dress, then honestly, i feel sorry more so for them than i do for myself.

I find myself to be a pretty cool guy (regardless of other people's opinion)even though I am acting like myself. So no I don't generally change for people or go against the crowd just for the sake of it. If I go against a group of people its because I am just being me.

From my understanding if you make an effort to be cool, than most likely you are not cool.

Most people like someone for who they are. People don't trust other people that are fake.
