I am quiet, but not necessarily shy. I dont feel the need to talk, specifically small talk, but I speak my mind and come off genuine and people misinterpret that as being outspoken.
In short, people are generally suprised when I say something lol. People assume that because you dont participate in talking you are not listening
Talking to strangers is a part of my job, though, and I used to be shy but that helped me get over it in a hurry.
Shy unless at work ( Ironically I work as a customer service rep lol). Most of the time I don't fell the need for small talk. But it coms to girls I'm just shy as heck.
I can be shy as hell when around strangers, but once the ice is broken I can be talkative depending on the mood.
In large groups, or with strangers, I am normally very quiet and shy. In smaller groups, or with friends I am somewhat outgoing, but still very reserved. Its the INFJ in me.
I'm kinda similar.I am quiet, but not necessarily shy. I dont feel the need to talk, specifically small talk, but I speak my mind and come off genuine and people misinterpret that as being outspoken.

I'd tend to say that i'm definitely a quiet kinda guy (in person) but not shy. When i'm quiet i tend to be more aware of my surroundings and what's occuring around me. The bad news that accompanies this is that well since i tend to be quiet, others assume that i'm someone dangerous and unstable who would probably hurt them and lash out in violence and anger as well they often tell me that when i'm like that i tend to look as though i'm plotting stuff up and not exactly safe ones, lol!! It's a shame really as i'm the opposite of what they assume....this is provided that i'm not ticked off by something as then, well let's just say calm sea waters can turn into angry sea storms, lol!!
I am more the quiet type unless I know what I am talking about or somebody asks for help and I know the answer.
Other than that I like to listen to others instead. I guess you could call me selfish because I much rather prefer hearing other peoples' ideas and opinions rather than expressing and thus sharing my own.
This describes me. And it also depends on what subject we are talking about.....In large groups, or with strangers, I am normally very quiet and shy. In smaller groups, or with friends I am somewhat outgoing, but still very reserved. Its the INFJ in me.

It depends upon the coversation and the people involved. I hate talking about inane things and will usually stay quite while people gossip or talk about their days or whatever; I don't care.

except on the interwebz, here i´m absolutely horrible. Outspoken. Know-it-all-attitude. Kind of aggressive. Nonchalant. Arrogant. Ugh, just horrible.
