Macs piss me off. I rarely watch TV so I guess I don't see those advertisements. I love my Windows 7 pc. *Hugs pc*
Its pretty much what the underdog needs to do to get ahead but the take it too far. They dont talk enough about why macs are great and just how the OS for windows wasnt too great

I'm getting sick of the never ending bashing of Mac on Gamespot.
Seriously, even if I were to agree with the idea that Mac's suck (they don't), it would still be an old and tiring topic, there have been at least one of these per day.

they do suck having had to use them beforeNope. I honestly don't see what's so annoying about them. It's not like they're the only company that bashes their competitors. sammyjenkis898those ads do kinda piss me off, but i do see your point. i just saw another commercial for chevrolet, bashing honda for making lawnmowers.

they do suck having had to use them beforePersonal preference does not overrule quantitative data. On a point by point REAL comparison (seriously, leave the UI out completely and compare the OS with personal preference bias) and you'll get a pretty even match with Windows 7 vs. Snow Leopard (although Snow Leopard tends to perform faster).
Also: I'm equally tired of a gecko telling me 15 minutes or less could save me money on car insurance, but I don't feel threatened enough to make a thread about it to claim to the world how much I think geico is a terrible company for it. It's a simple thing called branding. Apple has branded their commercial and it's actually better from an advertising standpoint than most would think (seriously, look this stuff up, Apple is very good at marketing and advertising, most of their past few years of the aggressive get a Mac campaign can be directly correlated to a huge upshift in sales).

They actually have some of the best commercials I've seen in a while. I just wish that the commercials also actually told you about the product.
Personally, I dislike Apple as a company.
The Mac ads do annoy me. The idea behind them is pretty poor too - 'we'll just bash our competitors, and see what happens'. I don't see the ads often though, as I don't watch too much TV. OS X has some good ideas, but they can all be emulated to work just the same on Windows. I'd rather emulate something like it than spend a fortune on it.
I hate bashing period. I have been a Mac Guy my whole life ( 20 years) ive never really used Windows in any great extent of time. But i am REALLY contemplating buying a windows 7 machine, its looks very intuitive and cool.
Plus those commercial were funny now they just piss me off.

You act as if they're the only company that does it.

Name another company that has viciously bashed another specific company for over a year straight. As another user said earlier, Chevrolet has bashed many of their competitors. Seriously, numerous companies do it. I see it daily on television.I've never seen someone use the word "viciously" so loosely.

I think in terms of tech product commercials the PS3's new ads beat it. But yeah the Mac commercials were good once but now meh. They actually have some of the best commercials I've seen in a while. I just wish that the commercials also actually told you about the product.

I made a topic similar to this the other day. It seems EVERY SINGLE ONE of their commercials is bashing PC. They really have nothing to go off of besides that.
The bottom line is I don't understand how apple or any of its customers can honestly sit here and say they are better, more reliable and oh ya the cliche that they are some how not the same? That all worked when they were usinga differentchipset, but now that they are using intel, which is what every pc brand is practicallyusing. Oh and the fact that the mac is a pc as well. Why they advertise that they are not, well it is quite laughable. They are not different anymore besides the factthat one uses an OS that doesn't even come close to the user base that windows has, hence the not so many viruses. Its a joke really, but to get back to subject of the commercial I think it is amusing.

I've seen plenty of their ads that go much further than that.
What do you call this? Companies bashing their competitors is nothing new.

Not really no, more sick of PC fanboys bashing mac >____> :PDarth-CaedusAgreed. I love my Macbook. Does everything I need.

That's one ad from 23 years ago. Let us know when you come up with a company that AGGRESSIVELY bashes a single company for a year straight.Does nobody see the Microsoft commercials where some person goes into Best Buy and if they find a computer under a certain price, the will pay for it for them? Well in every single commercial for these the person goes over to the Macs and says something bad about them. Both companies do it. It's nothing new.

but people in those commercials actually say what people are thinking (no matter how dumb they say it).
I don't think anyone that gets a mac thinks the way the people in the commercials "think" (;)).

What do you think they've stopped bashing their competitor fast food companies? Nope.
I wasn't the one that said that other companies have been doing it for years, you were. I said that a countless number of companies bash their competitors, which is obviously true.

Those are totally scripted...So...showing the fact that PCs cost less while performing more is bashing?Does nobody see the Microsoft commercials where some person goes into Best Buy and if they find a computer under a certain price, the will pay for it for them? Those are totally scripted...I wasn't saying they weren't. And does that mean they couldn't possibly represent what people think?
I know the people on budgets certainly do think that way.
And those Windows commercials piss me off as well. A "law student" chose to buy a PC for $900 when her budget was almost twice that.
WTF?
Both companies lose some of my respect.
