I say Green Berets

At first I misread the title and thought it said "Power Rangers vs. The Green Hornet" in which case it'd be a very hard decisionScarface_tm431
I had that same problem because I just glanced at the title. It depends if it's Power Rangers now, or the original Power Rangers.
Maroon Berets pwn both. go look them upC_BozkurT_CNot true....but Rangers and Green Berets have two different jobs...both are elite.
I hate these threads SOOO much. Soldiers are not ****ing super heroes. They gey different levels of training, for different type of missions. FFS, standard Army grunts are better trained in certain field elements than Rangers are. Seriously, these threads are borderline offensive. chandlerr_360Relax. Getting in to any special force is more difficult than simply enlisting.

Yes, but Ranger training and Green Beret training are nearly identical. Green beret's work at squad sized levels, and Rangers work at platoon sized levels...that is about the only difference between the two. Calling on group of soldiers better than another is pretty ignorant and offending IMO.

I didn't say either was better. I didn't even vote. And respect to anyone that joins the military. I was in the army reserves for a bit.even though im not in any branch (im only 14 for crying out loud)
i like the army rangers better. im not sure why lots of people hate the army when they have won all the major battles in WWII with the exception of IWO jima
by the way im a jarheadeven though im not in any branch (im only 14 for crying out loud)

Uhhh....no, they can't.
While both are 'elite' in their own respectm they each serve a different purpose.
Green Berets are geared more to establishing contact with and training rebels and guerrilla's looking to overthrow governments deemed a threat to the US. Their mission may last months.
U.S. Army Rangers are typically trained as 'shock' type troops who move fast and hit high value targets with heavy firepower and capturing objectives behind enemy lines. Their mission may last days or a week at most.
Among other differences.
EDIT: Not to mention they are the same branch. The Army.

this is hard to say considering their jobs are different from one another. the green berets are a special forces unit which means they operate in small groups and are BEST at special forces missions (such as infliration and the like) but they couldn't do things a ranger battlion or company could because they are too small. but if you are talking about larger numbers of attacking and defending soldiers then the rangers could be a better choice than the berets simply due to costs (you would rather lose a couple of rangers as compared to a green beret). even though the marines are probably better as the elite unit than the rangers.00Wu
The standard marine couldnt compete with a Ranger. The Rangers are very versatile and top knotch troops. They are your conventional, unconventional troops. Need to assault the North Korean line? Call in the Marines. Need to destroy the NK powerplant thats behind enemy line? Call in the Rangers.
Saying that marines are better than Rangers is just disrespectful. Do you know how many marines there are? Theres upward of 100,000 thousand. Does that sound elite to you?
