If every country went about apologising for the things they've done, it would take a very long time. Think of all the things done in the name of the British Empire, has Britain apologised for every horrible deed committed? Has America apologised for trying to wipe out the Native Americans, or dropping two Atomic Bombs on innocent civies. Most Country have something to be shameful of in their past, "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".

We've had a thread on this issue...military were based in those cities.
You missed the point of my post. As for military being based in a city making it ok to nuke hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, thats a cop out
Either way, I dont think the US should appologize for the nuking. People forget how many lives would have been lost if we had actually invaded Japan. On top of that we gave warning for people to get out well before the nuke hit. I know people slam the US for actually using nukes, but the other side of that would have meant 10x the casualties, civilian and military.
On top of that it brought an end to the war. We didnt do it out of spite, nor did we do it for the sake of exterminating people. Japan brought it upon themselves and I dont think anyone here should feel bad about it.

More country, it involves. Right, you are.[QUOTE="Espada12"]Japan needs to pay China and Korea especially some form of compensation. Seriously what they did in both those countries pales in comparison to hitler imo.LonelynightWell Japan is giving China aidloans
Low interest loans isn't what I had in mind :P
Its nice and all to show that kind of respect, but tbh, it doesn't mean that much, since the now prime minister had nothing to do with wwII and its a complete generation that has passed.
The country as it is now has nothing to apologise for
You do know that there is still a strong feeling of anti-Japanese in much of Asia right? Its nice and all to show that kind of respect, but tbh, it doesn't mean that much, since the now prime minister had nothing to do with wwII and its a complete generation that has passed.

[QUOTE="Overlord93"]You do know that there is still a strong feeling of anti-Japanese in much of Asia right? And is that going to change after today? Nope. Japan saying "O, my bad" 65 years later does not change what happened. It's too little too late. Its nice and all to show that kind of respect, but tbh, it doesn't mean that much, since the now prime minister had nothing to do with wwII and its a complete generation that has passed.

I think a lot of the western world doesn't understand Asian international relations. This is a pretty big deal, and it's about time too.
[QUOTE="Overlord93"]You do know that there is still a strong feeling of anti-Japanese in much of Asia right? doesn't stop it from being a meaningless apology. Its nice and all to show that kind of respect, but tbh, it doesn't mean that much, since the now prime minister had nothing to do with wwII and its a complete generation that has passed.
