Asking a girl out through facebook

So i recently added an old partner from school in facebook,i haven't see her for 10 years,she is very cute now and i want to ask her out but since i only have contact with her through facebook,i don't know how to do it? any ideas on how i can get her number

It's no different than asking a girl out in person. "Hey, I was wondering if you'd maybe like to go out sometime"...and take it from there. If she is interested, then maybe ask for her number.

You would do this the same way as in person, online conversations are still conversations most of the time. She's going to say yes or she's going to say no regardless of how you ask her.

Only if you started talking with her again though facebook, once you do then causally ask if you want to meet up sometime.

What if she wants him to ask her out? Does she really care how it happens?

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER do this. Please. You're an insult to your fellow men everywhere if you do. If you like her enough to ask her out then you owe it to her to say it to her face. Asking a girl out via facebook is a big no always.

What you should do in the situation is strike up a convo. Keep the tone friendly and DON'T come on to her in any way. See if she wants to meet you at the mall or for coffee or something. Then if that goes well, ask her to meet again. Use facebook and texting to keep in touch but for the love of god please don't ask her out unless it's to her face.

I don't see anything wrong with asking a girl out online, especially if that's your primary method of communication. Ask her out for coffee or something on facebook, then ask for her number if she says yes, and then if all goes well with coffee, ask her to join you for dinner next tuesday. Or whenever you want.

Unless you just want to skip to dinner. Either way, you're asking her to do something with you and you're asking online.

Asking someone out through facebook isn't what I'd call the smartest way to go about it.   Misunderstandings can occur where you think it's a date but she thinks it's not.   In person is the best way to go about it.

Yeah I misread that a bit. For making the initial recconnection facebook is a-okay. 

meet her in person. then ask.

Do it in person. It's much easier to gauge her mood and for her to gauge yours. Always have serious conversations in person.

Edit: Just read that its been 10 years.. Ask for her number and if she gives it to you then its a sign she'd be up to talking.. get to know her and see if she lives local. Meet up somewhere and hang out.

Dunno how that would work. I think its much more comfortable from both perspectives to do it in person.

I would try to get her number first, then ask her out. Or even skype with her if you can. Try to be a little creative, girls dig a guy who is creative.
