I was unsure where this went so i'm posting hurr :B

I am very disappointed that since Assassin's creed release on,November 14, 2007, no one has successfully recreated Altair's hidden blade... any comments? thoughts? perhaps a video i might of missed??

Probably because it is too dangerous. Who wants to wear a weapon that you can accidentally slit your wrist with?

Truthfully i could see how it would work without it doing that... But it being "Too" dangerous will only encourage people to do it... i can almost guarantee that...

Actually if you've seen the way people have made the blade on you tube(witch seems like you haven't)there is no possible way you can slit your own wrist. Although you can get a missing middle finger.

Well no one is alive now a days that would be as smart as him in real life, so know one these days can do what he would have done.

No. Im saying if you got into a knife fight wth someone holding a knife with his fingers you're pretty much screwed.

Well the person holding the knife in between the fingers would lose already wouldn't it?

No. At least he doesnt have 3/4 of his blade blocked by the hand.

Not necessarily true... a series of movements or a finger positioning could trigger the blade.... Like Spiderman... no other action really requires you to bend your middle and ring finger down and bend your wrist back... I've definitely never patted someone on the back like that... so why can't the hidden blade have something as unique?

Well in that case the person with the hidden blade needs some very thick gloves, and I mean very thick.

knife to a gun fight? i highly doubt it. if you knew how to use it you could win... if you were barehanded you could win against someone with a knife... it's not as hard as it sounds...

Why would you need thinker gloves? why don't you make the blade project slightly lower angle... so it doesn't just go straight. it bends down a bit? that would remove that problem...

Just playing around man.

Bottom line, its too inefficient, you'll never beat a guy who holds a knife normally with his hands. Plus the structure is flawed, your hand is blocking the blade for gods sake, you'll need to twist your wrist upwards to an awkward position. Plus a giant bracelet isnt too good as a stealth weapon.

1. if someone knew how to make it right you would really have a giant bracelet but a long sleeve shirt... amirite? 2.the weapon wasn't originated to beat a guy who holds a knife, it was intended to walk into them and stab them... i find that stealthy.... 3.that "Awkward" position isn't all that awkward... i mean you don't have to bend your hand back as far as humanly possible, just enough to activate the device, then you can move it back down to a normal position.

Dude if it was efficient it would already have been employed by the special ops.Why not just stabpeople with a normal knife? I doubt your wrist can generate much strength from that awkward position anyway.

In my opinion, i agree that it does seem better to stab with a normal knife but it's just more convenient and more bad ass to have a "Hidden blade" to begin with. Special ops wouldn't need one >_> they have bad ass guns and other random stuff that makes them awesome.

It's perfectly possible to recreate Ezio's hidden blade without getting injured while using it. Of course, nobody should actually make it with a real blade. Ezio's hidden blade is located under the wrist and has a trigger that you attach to your finger. When you raise your hand, the trigger is pulled and the blade comes out. Altair's blade is harder since it comes out where his missing finger should be.
