Asteroids going to hit the Earth! (can't be stopped)

There are two space rocks which have the potential to hit the earth there's one which is 430 foot (130 meter) diameter rock that has a 1 in 3,000 chance of hitting our planet Earth in 2048. Then theres another rock which is called Apophis, this rock is double the size of the first one and has 1 in 43,000 chance of hitting the Earth in 2036,2037,2069!!

And guess what?? We don't have the technology to even stop these huge chunks of rocks if they do head towards Earth!! We don't even have the technology to detect all of the asteroids in our solar system! And there are 6,000 huge rocks which are a danger to Earth!!:shock:

Just get Albert Pujols with a bat, that will stop these space rocks that you speak of.

we all have to die someday. it would be cool if it was time for you to die that it was because of a huge asteroid instead of lets say passing in your sleep. what's the fun in that:P

Hmm....s'good day to die.

Apophis has been known for a while now. The current theory to save the earth is to either put a large solar sail on it or a large enough vessel next to it that the gravity of the vessel would gently nudge it far enough away from earth. Both plans though would need years of notice and time to be effective. A nuke would almost certainly never be used since then we would have falling nuclear debris falling all over earth and in the atmosphere.Kurushio

I've heard about this before. Hopefully we can build something by then that could at least give us a chance in hell of avoiding being hit. LZ71

Let's hope nobody will have the good taste to send Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum with a mac in a space vessel to hack the asteroids with a virus... Or send Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck with nuclear weapons. Lets hope, this time, they will leave Ben on the stupid asteroid to die

2048 is a long way off tbh. Who knows what type of things we could have at that point. Either way i'll take my chances 1 in 3000 is crazy odds

The asteroid is called Apophis? Didn't the System Lord Apophis from Stargate try to blow up the earth with a meteor in an episode? :lol:

Well now we know about it I'm sure we can put something together that will prevent it by then.
