ASU one legged wrestler

I know no one here cares about wrestling but this past weekend a student at Arizona State University won the prestigious division 1 NCAA tournament. Anthony Robles is a 3 time all-American placing 4th and 7th and finally first. Whats special about this guy is that he was born without his right leg.

What many people would see as a huge disadvantage Robles didnt give up but made it into a huge advantage. Because of his missing leg is upper body is massive compared to the other 125 lb competitors and he can be bigger but weigh less. Also his grip is extraordinary from a lifetime of holding on to his crutches. His wrestling style makes it near impossible for opponents to attack because his missing leg so they have less to work with while fighting off his great strength.

A big part of wrestling is taking shots at an opponents leg, but because of the absence of his right he wrestles low on his knee. Usually wrestlers grab onto their ankles to get around the back for a takedown. Robles sits on his left leg to prevent this, added with his insane arm strength opponents basically have no room to attack.

Probably kind of confusing for people who dont know much about wrestling.

It was great, my favorite part was Bubba Jenkins sticking David Taylor in the finals, it was amazing. The back story made it all the more entertaining to watch.

Its a huge advantage, but I dont see people cutting off their legs to win championships:P Thats whats great, a kid put with what people would call a handicap proves that he was made for wrestling.

This isnt high school and Robles was the number 1 seed because he literally destroyed everyone during the season and was 2x All American. I promise you no one was going into the biggest tournament of their entire lives thinking about feeling sorry for a cripple. People go to the NCAA's to win, Robles was just unstoppable.
