At what age can you start working?

16 is minumum for most public stuff.

14 is allowed if you recieve a license and a signed release by a parent.

If you can't find an employer to hire you then you can still do odd jobs like babysitting, mowing lawns and shoveling snow, also cleaning houses. If you are willing to put in the work you should find someone wiling to let you do it.double_decker

I believe most places here in Florida won't hire anyone under sixteen, though I know there are a few fifteen year olds who work in the supermarkets. At fourteen, your best bet is probably mowing lawns, or something like that around your neighborhood.Ryeferd

In Arkansas you can work at 14 with a worker's permit.

I live in florida and I started working as a bag-boy in a supermarket called Publix,when I was 14.It's alright.Now,I'm 18 and it's still a nice job,because of talking to the customers.Bamdude89

Thats exactly where I heard about working at 14, my stepbro works there and he says that you can be a bag-boy in publix at 14. I just want to be sure so that I dont just walk in there and look stupid.
