Do people still actually use T-Mobile? I haven't really met anyone in a while who uses it, to my knowledge.
I do (did?)[QUOTE="QiiXii"][QUOTE="SilentSoprano"]

Me as well.
Same, it is the majority in my area, AT&T has no reception as opposed to T-mobile that has just wonky reception.Must be just around my area then that it's losing popularity. Most of the people around here seem to use Verizon or AT&T.
About 33.3 million people uses T-MobileDo people still actually use T-Mobile? I haven't really met anyone in a while who uses it, to my knowledge.

well if the deal does go through it will still take about a year for everything to be said and done for the complete transitionIt still has to get past antitrust regulations I think. The loss of competition is not a good thing at all.

I was thinking about switching back.
This is horrible news if it goes through. The loss of competition is never good. T-Mobile gave customers a low priced alternative to the over priced plans offered by AT&T and Verizon, not to mention the loss of jobs. Expect your cell phone and data rates to climb because of this.psychobrewI've actually switched to the Virgin (subsidiary of Sprint) plans to avoid the high cost of verizon and AT&T plans. If you're a relatively low talker, they have some really compelling no-contract plans.
Oh helll noooooooooooooooo. OMGG. They better not mess up my T-Mobile service! :(Bloodseeker23You're not going to have any more "T-Mobile service". lol. I used to be an Alltel customer but when Verizon bought them out I was pretty much forced to get new Verizon phones and switch to Verizon plans.
[QUOTE="Messiahbolical-"]This sucks. Remember Alltel and Cingular? Sprint is next. Lack of choice = Baddunl12496
Cingular is gone? And isn't this a monopoly?
ATT bought Cingular a couple of years back... lol. And yeah, it's a monopoly, but Verizon still has over a hundred million subscribers.I know some people who use T-Mobile. I don't know anyone who uses Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile should have been bought by AT&T.Do people still actually use T-Mobile? I haven't really met anyone in a while who uses it, to my knowledge.

Hmm, surprised this is allowed with AT&T already nearly a monopoly.
dercoo
In what? GSM technology? Although the consumer is going to get royally screwed with this deal, but who was surprised? Sprint wasnt going to buy T-Mobile because they use a CDMA network, as well as Verizon.

Same, it is the majority in my area, AT&T has no reception as opposed to T-mobile that has just wonky reception. As do I. And I am not happy about this one bit. I hope things turn out better in the end, but I have a feeling this will only lead to higher prices :(I keep hearing about big companies gobbling up smaller ones a lot lately.
A few years from now I'm going to keep hearing about big companies getting broken up in antitrust hearings.

Pretty much.

Either that or they'll buy out the government.
