I just had an AT&T sales rep come by my house. Apparently they have an optic line for UVerse in my neighborhood now. I currently have Comcast and find them incredibly annoying.

Anyone here have UVerse? Love it? Hate it?

Thx.

It's currently out of my area, but my uncle has it. It's pretty cool, but the HD quality wasn't very good. Maybe it was just his TV, but it didn't look very good.

What's VDSL? I know a lot of the speed depends how close you are to the main box. My house is about 20 yards. I like the free DVR and on-demand/DVR in every room. But Comcast does have quality HD and Internet speed. I just hate dealing with their price increases.

I have it, it's really nice. The internet is blazing fast and the Television stations are awesome. So far I've really liked it. I also think the HD looks really nice.

They don't service my area. Just verizon. :x

My parents have it though and it's pretty cool. I like the DVR in every room. HD's not bad too.

Comcast offers terrible internet service with terrible customer service. AT&T offers good internet service with atrocious customer service.

I technically support it. I like to think I'm one of the good guys. :P I honestly don't think it's that bad a service. Some of the deals/promos are actually pretty good, too.

Agreed on customer service. I have a friend who had a horrible time with it. Looks like though for the price I should serisouly consider switching... thanks for the input everyone.

I've had UVerse since late 2006. I was one of the first customers in this area in fact. I move around a lot, so I've had a lot of experience with the service, specifically how different the installation is from place to place.

The first installation I had in 2006 was so ridiculous it almost defied description. When they came to my apartment at that time, they sent one guy around 8 a.m. to do the installation. He had incredible trouble and by noon we had four people there. Before the end of the day (6 p.m. for them), there were 8 people at my house. Still no working installation. The next day, there was a team of 20 people trying to install UVerse service. They finally had it working around 3 p.m.

Since that time, I've moved four times and am embarking on my fifth (and possibly final) move. Each time I've moved, the installation has improved tremendously. The last time, which was February of last year, the installation tech was hardly here.

My quality for television serivce from UVerse has always been first rate. I've only seen quality problems once, and that was not in my own home but a friend's. His TV service was fine in the downstairs area but was extremely pixelated upstairs. It took a couple of service visits to get this resolved, which required that they move the main receiver upstairs in his master bedroom closet.

As for internet problems, I had never had any real issues until very recently in my current apartment. For whatever reason, it goes out for a few seconds every now and then. It's not THAT big of a deal when just browsing, but it wreaks havoc on my VPN. About every ten minutes, it disconnects over this issue, and the VPN takes another minute or two to automatically reconnect. That is incredibly annoying when you are trying to work from home and have quite a bit to do. I was going to have them come and check on the problem, but since I am moving again, I'm just going to see how it goes after installation at the new place. Since I plan to work from home a lot more often now, I am going to have to be more insistent that any such issues be fixed as soon as they appear.

Had it but cancelled it after maybe a year and a half. Had locked in rate for the first year and after that the price went up which was expected. But then every month the bill went higher and higher and higher. Then our service went out and they came out three times to try and fix it. Each time someone new come out so they didn't really know what the person before him did. After three days of on again off again service we had enough and cancelled it.

Pretty much. They've also capped their "unlimited" land line plans to force preservation of their TV service.
