Athism says we are all the same, we share the same thing, the saving of this planet, the saving of the species. Religion maintains we are all different we serve different gods.

Would it not be better for humanty if we all worked together to improve the world rather then dividing into sects?

I'd call those very bizarre characterizations of both atheism and of religion

i say that that is a gross simplification, and a misunderstanding of both atheism and the fundamental goals of religion...

if 'Athism' really stood for those things I would be all for it. but the Atheists I have met had quite different standards and beliefs and many of them have an agenda which involves making life difficult for believers.

That's not what either of them unanimously say. You could just as easily (and just as incompletely) argue that a member of a particular religion thinks we're all the same, since we're all created by the same god; while an athiest anthropologist might say that we're all vastly different from one another, in cultues, mannerisms, ways of thought, etc. Although I suppose I provisionally agree that if humanity worked together, things might be better. It'll almost certainly never happen, and the world would be fairly boring if it did, but it's a nice thought.

Of what I have learned about all religions I've come across, being 'good stewards of the Earth' are of upmost importance, so I'm really not sure what you are talking about. (I'm not exactly sure you know what you are talking about either, for that matter).

I disagree with that because atheism has no ideology, it is just the disbelief in god and that's it. For example not all atheists are humanists.

You need to elaborate more. I'm sure all atheists don't think alike, and I know not all religions teach the same things. And then again not all people of all religions necessarily believe the same thing either. I don't believe either of your assertions.

Im not really sure what I am on about either, this thread died last week, someone brought it back from the dead. It has a high wine content.
