Well first, when you die, in the modern era, its usually in a hospital. So when you keel over, you'll end up usually in the morgue in the basement. Then if the cause of your death is known, they will ship your body out to a funeral home, where the funeral director (the undertaker of the modern age) will either embalm your body, preserving your "life" or cremate you, making disposal of your body very simple. Then your close family and friends will host a funeral for you, of varying types of ceremonies, some religious and even some secular, and your body will either 1) end up buried in the ground, 2) scattered on the cemetaries' "scattering grounds," 3) end up on a mantle piece or 4) if your wishes include your ashes to be scattered somewhere else, they will be taken by your family and placed where you specify.

That is what happens to us when we die. Whether or not there is some form of the body that "continues" on after the death of a person is pure speculation.

I don't know. And neither does anyone else. Which is why I choose not to believe another person when they tell me what happens when we die. It's terrifying to think about dying but going to religion just for the comfort it brings lets people think that they have the answers when they really don't. And since more people have died in the name of religion than anything else in the history of mankind shows that this can be very dangerous for people.

hmm i aways wondered this myself. i dont believe in god, i dont believe in heaven or hell, but it intrigues me what happens after death. its weird i mean, where do your mind goes, your conscience that know that you are you, that you exist. you have to go somewhere, i mean its weird thinking that you dont exist. oh god lol this is so hard to explain, especially in english. but ill try. you know that you are here, right now. after you die what happens to your coscience that knows that you are you. ( oh god its hard to explain) where were you before you born?? when does it started for you to think that you exist, to be coscient that you exist. i dont remember being a baby for example. but when does you get that thing, that makes you exist. lets call it a soul. when do you get your soul. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh whatever.

There is simply nothing, the whole idea of you going "somewhere" after death is quite honestly stupid. Once you are dead that is it, it defies all logic to have something occur after death. :|

Man, I hope there's some cool place where you can see your reelatives after death or something...

It would be cool if you reincarnate and you don't remember your past life.

I could've been an astronautoracowboyor something...

OK. I'll be clearer. BORN-AGAIN Christians cannot go to hell. To be honest, though, I don't consider a "Christian" who is not born-again truly a Christian anyway.

I have lots of views Of death.

The one that Consits of No After life is like:

You get burried, and you just die. You see a black screen like your dreaming or in a coma, but you dont Know it, Like when you were in the Womb. Remember that?Of Course you dont  Thats like death, Except were not waiting for anything, Lifes Goes on, and they say R.I.P.

Thats pretty much death.

So wait... born again Christians can't sin? They can't fall like anyone else and be sent to Hell? Your being able to "judge" what makes a "Christian" seems very un-Christian to me.

And this thread was for atheists.

So anyone who is "born again" can freely break all the Commandments and laws of the Bible and not worry about retribution for their actions? Sweet, where do I sign up?

Doesn't mean you can't be off-topic in an off-topic thread. That's why we have "topics" in off-topic. Just because your point might relate to the topic, doesn't mean it is productive to mention.

you apparently don't consider a Catholic being a part of 'true' Christianity. unless you happen to be one of those 'whore of babylon' types, which just reinforces my point.

Indeed. Just because you're "saved" now, doesn't mean you'll remain saved. Anyone can turn their back on god even while "Born Again", and still go to hell, as the belief goes.

To answer the TC, if god doesn't exist, then there's no afterlife, so no hell 8)

People are so silly. You don't have to believe in anything for things that would appear to be miracles to happen. The world is round for a reason.
