Not only are youngAmericans who can't afford to pay for health insurrance going to be forced to buy it, they are going to be forced to pay for more than their fare share in order to reduce the costs for older Americans. That's right. Those older Americans who have more stable and much higher paying jobs than younger Americans are forcing younger people with much, muchlower paying and less stable jobs to pay for a large portion of their health insurrance. Seem fair? I don't think so. Not only that, a family of 4 making $66,000 will be forced to pay $6,000 a year for insurrance, even if they live in areas where a family of 4 making $66,000 is barely above the poverty level (near major cities -- trust me, that's not alot of money for a family of that size in many areas).

This is crazy. The only way to make a national health care plan work is to totally scrap the current system and put everyone onthe same non proffitnational system. If we are unwilling to do that, we should not be implementing a system that forces people to pay money they don't have. I hope this loses in court.

Healthcare for all is a basic Human Right. Obama is trying too hard to work within the current corrupt Capitalistic framework for a resolution, for fear of an absolute loss. He means well, but he should stick to his guns with more vigour. It is a political gamble, but one worth taking, and one which would secure his admirable future, even if a practical resolution did not come to pass during his presidency.

There is no public option anymore, and insurrance rates for young people are going to sky rocket in order to bring down the insurrance costs for older people. If we really want a national health care system, we need to scrap the current system entirely and put everybody on a public plan or one provided by a non proffit agency. Young people will be raped by the plan congress is trying to pass. The problem is younger people are less likely to speak up.

This health plan, is it just like our NHS in England? If so, why worry?

No, it's nothing like the NHS at all. In England the government owns and funds all the hospitals (other than the private ones obviously....) so we can all walk in and see a doctor for free. In America, the government is not running the hospitals. Obama just wants to come up with a scheme whereby people can have insurance and pay for healthcare who otherwise couldn't afford it.

The ones that can are ignored... Its sad and the reason ill probably never move to america. most of the people in third and second world countries see america as a completely fair and honest country. The serbians (civilians and military) who were bombed said that they couldn't believe that america, which in their minds is basically a dream country, could do that to innocent people. Its quite sad really :(
