I love James Cameron. It's almost like you can hear him in the background of Avatar saying, "See, I told you these people were gullible enough to eat this r****** s**** up".
I hope there's not an Avatar 2, the first was bad enough. The only way it'd be good is if they totally rewrote the plot so it's not painfully predictable and hideously overused.
I don't see why people would want to deprave the people who enjoyed the first movie, of a sequel. I didn't like the Hangover, but I wouldn't want to keep those who enjoyed it from enjoying more of it. Get over yourselves

It has been confirmed that there will be Avatar 2 in 2014 and 3 soon after.
