This is it, guys! A decade of hype has finally begins!
DC is crying I bet XD
Enough with the superhero movies... seriously.
You say it as if Infinity War had no buildup after all these years of building up to this one film.
Nobody is going to care about anyone saying "enough superhero films" because Marvel is steamrolling past the finish line. There's no opting out at this point.
Just don't watch 'em, m'kay.

^This. Too late to stop this train now. This movie is 5+ years in the making.

Way more than five years in the making. We're talking about since the first Iron Man, a 2008 release. Well over a decade in the making.
OK, I think it's finally time. I've said this so many times on here, but aside from the two Guardians movies, I've not watched any of the MCU films. X-Men was always my favorite Marvel series, and the lack of them in these just didn't appeal to me, but after the trailers for Thor: Ragnarok, and now this one, I'm really starting to regret that decision. Think I'm going to start correcting it this weekend.
@hrt_rulz01: Have no fear, I am chill. The words I type with my fingertips does not reflect my actual mood in person.
It's really not the MCU's fault for all this superhero over-saturation. If anything they're the ones actually doing justice for the comic book lore. The MCU is not perfect but it's by far a better job being done than its competition. I believe the mood has really been dampened for some thanks to the stupefying nature of MCU's competitor, the DCEU. That's the real problem with comic book movies and the DCEU gets mixed in a blender with every other comic movie it leaves a bad taste all around.
There's a bold reason why there's so much hype going into Infinity War. Most people who actually have been following all the movies you'll never hear say they're also tired of them as much as they continually bolster their excitement for this one.
@jaydan: OK fair enough... and I hope that people looking forward to it, enjoy it.
I just think that superhero movies are at an over-saturation point. Look at how many Marvel movies have released over the last 10-15 years... its astonishing.
But I guess that if people keep going to see them and are enjoying them, they'll keep pumping them out. All the power to them I guess. But I'm definitely over them.
@hrt_rulz01: It's really hard to get on good level to enlighten anyone that says they're tired of these movies that the MCU is worth it, I'll give you that. And much of that reason is because, yes, by time Infinity War comes out there will be upwards to 20 films released in the franchise. Anyone that says they're tired of these movies but only really seen a patchy few of all of them; telling them to watch the others to catch up is asking a bit much from one's time and patience. But I feel like people that do give the series a good chance and watch at least the majority of them, are the ones that realize just how ambitious and carefully developed the overall scheme is, and that's where the excitement really shines in the series.
The MCU is definitely an investment, and not everyone will get a chance to appreciate the full picture depending on how much they put into them. I used to hate the phase 1 of the MCU - the original Iron Man, Thor and Captain America - but honestly I find a lot to appreciate them now because I gained the perspective years later after larger narrative directions developed that paint the originals under different context.
Movies like Civil War was not successful just because we got to see our favorite heroes duke it out, but the tensions between characters and plot that built up to that moment. Captain America and Iron Man, for example, had odd tensions toward each other from the very beginning, and to see that bubble finally pop in Civil War was its ultimate payoff. It's an investment in the making, but it's well worth it for those along for the ride.
The MCU is like a really good running TV series, but instead of its format being 30-60 minute long episodes, these episodes are as long as feature length films. Much like any TV show, however, your enjoyment will be dependent entirely on your own investment with the series.

Marvel has been setting up the Avengers for a very long time, the first in line was Iron Man, Thor, Captain American, Hulk, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man, and finally Black Panther coming together and now, it all ends here in Infinity War. It's all about Thanos and us Comic Book fans have been waiting for the past 10 years.
In truth, I can understand why you may think Superhero movies are over-saturated, it's because Marvel kept giving each Avenger there own movies continuations vs what DC has put out. You said can we stop with the superhero movies right? Well, you may get your wish, Infinity War is set to end it all.

Kevin Feige said Avengers 4 is what's going to end it for this saga at least.

That's a shame. I feel ya, I'm a bigger X-Men fan that the rest of the MCU. But...the X-Men movies, as a whole, just weren't as good as these other entries,
@mitu123:
I meant Avenger movie but there's been 19 overall Marvel movies.
What was the 1st?
This is the 3rd Avengers movie, and the 1st MCU movie is Iron Man.
Third Avengers movie: Infinity War
First MCU movie: Iron Man
First chronological film to the story: Captain America
@mitu123: I always thought Avengers 4 was supposed to be phase 2 as in Avengers Infinity War part 2?
Avengers Infinity War isn't getting a 2 parter anymore, it's separate from Avengers 4.

Somewhat...I think of all the Avengers films yet, 3 and 4 will have the most deliberate passing from one another, and that's ado to the fact that they were originally intended to be as one, but also it will most definitely be a continuation of the conflict that happens in Infinity War, whereas compared to the first Avengers and Age of Ultron, they both are mostly separate in terms of conflicts portrayed.
My best bet, is Infinity War will be mostly about tragedy. It will most likely be the darkest chapter of any MCU film to date, and key characters that we've been accustomed to all these years will indeed die. Infinity War will most likely end on the note that Thanos leaves the Avengers mostly defeated and either he succeeds in getting all the Infinity Stones or at least gets most of them.
With the tragedy of death most likely in the equation of Infinity War and Thanos having the winning edge, we'll have Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel before Avengers 4. My best guess is Wasp and Captain Marvel will join the team by the fourth film, and after the deaths of key characters (Iron Man? Captain America? Vision? Loki? Thor??? Etc.???) there will be a period of recoup where we see the next era of Avengers (Maybe Black Panther takes the leadership position? Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, etc.) just in time to give Thanos the final vengeance in Avengers 4.
So to sum my beliefs up: Infinity War will be that tragic and dark dip in the story's timeline --> Ant-Man and the Wasp + Captain Marvel will be the recoup phase and establishment of the new Avengers --> Avengers 4 will be Thanos' defeat.
@jaydan: OK fair enough... and I hope that people looking forward to it, enjoy it.

Lol, I highly doubt it... That's probably just wraps up this 10 year run. Now a new cycle begins. Same thing will happen with Star Wars.
@jaydan: Lol take a chill pill. Just mentioned that I'm sick of superhero movies. Big deal. Geez.
If you are sick of superhero movies then don't watch them and stop talking about them. Move on nobody here gives a shit what you are sick of
Lol, get over yourself dude... Just made a passing comment. No big deal.
I just want to see Thanos wreck shop through the entire film, and what is going to happen Vision when Thanos finds his stone.

It definitely won't be the end; in fact, there might be twenty more films after this era, but twenty more films that distinguish the other side of a coin and not the side we've been looking at this whole time.
Kevin Feige has already confirmed a new era for the MCU and that it will be distinctively different from what we've seen so far. He states it won't be anything like what people are expecting, and from the sounds of it the differences between this current era and the next era will be like the difference between day and night.
Other than that, they've been very tight-lipped what that could possibly mean. On an economic level, could it be better than what we got now? Could it mean the decline of interest in comic book movies after the most major story ark that leads to Thanos ends, actually end the interest in moviegoers? Could they possibly raise new excitement that motivates people to propel forward?
Something tells me that the MCU will move on forward after Avengers 4, but it might also be the point where not only the current MCU era comes to an end, but possibly the end of the superhero genre. I really look at superhero films as a genre the same way film noir was. Film noir was very popular for its time too and defined a generation, but there comes a point where such glory days come to an end.
My best guess is, maybe, era 1 is what will be cemented in film history the way film noir is, and post-superhero era will be more or less trying to recapture the glory days but they'll never captivate that fire again.

@mitu123: I thought the first MCU movie was the Incredible Hulk?
Iron Man 1 was May 2, 2008, The Incredible Hulk was June 13, 2008. Iron Man has it beaten by a month.
Ah yes, now that's a proper war. Some genuinely intense moments in that trailer.
Somewhere, in an alternate universe, Disney bought DC instead of Marvel. Kevin Feige is in charge of blockbuster movies like Superman and Batman and Wonder Woman, and the world is talking about Justice League 3, featuring all the characters I grew up with as a kid. Somewhere.
Ah well. Good job, Marvel. Good job, Disney.
@mitu123: I think it's also important to note that Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel are coming out next to each other.
The reason why this may be important: remember in Ant-Man that was the first time they tapped into the Quantum Realm? Since that movie there hasn't been much further establishment of such a place. I think it might have briefly been shown in Doctor Strange, but other than that the Quantum Realm hasn't surfaced again. It will definitely surface again in Ant-Man and the Wasp, and it's going to be a vital role for the movies later on.
Curiously, Captain Marvel is a movie that will take place in the 90's, which is odd because the 90's is way before the events of the movies. They say she will have access to the Quantum Realm as well.
It makes me wonder if maybe she'll cross with Ant-Man and Wasp first before coming back a destructed Earth in the future that Thanos destroys.
Perhaps through the physics of the Quantum Realm they'll discover the answers to defeat Thanos and they'll bring it back to the rest of the lasting Avengers to kick his ass.
Meanwhile at the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, studio execs react to the new Avengers trailer...and they're not taking it well.

Oh yeah, I think I remember that now. I hope that gets touched on too, that would be interesting.
That is strange that Captain Marvel is in the 90s. Guess they want to explore her backstory more a bit as well.
Well, the Avengers are going to do whatever it takes to try to take down Thanos, and something like that would be a good advantage for them.
I wish they used the scene from the leak trailer where thanos use to infinity gauntlet to send out some sort of attack at tony. Send chills up my spine as it made think Stark is actually going to die

It's the leak trailer from Comic Con this year. I did manage to watch it before they took it down. Thanos look more intimidating then he did in the new trailer now. But one things for sure, the CGI of Thanos totally kills Steppenwolf. Maybe the motion capture of Brolin help out more so.
I love the hype for this film is now officially Thanos is going to kick their asses.
Thanos is going to hit the Avengers so hard some are going to die.
He will smack the highlights out of Black Widow's hair.
He will punch the facial hair off Steve Rogers.
He will throw Hawk Eye so high he'll be a top-tier Avenger.
Cap gets his shield back just for him to break it.
Who are we predicting will die?
My list:
Those who have to survive to initiate the next phase:
And is that Hulk in an Iron Man suit? Or just the Hulkbuster? Tony be like: "You get an Iron Man suit, and YOU get and Iron Man suit and YOU get an Iron Man suit!"
