Average age of gamers

Hi all. I'd like to know what is the average age of the gamers here in Gamespot. Well, I am 39 !!!! And I was just wondering if I am too old for that. I really don't care because I grew up playing vídeo games. I've been playing since a computer called MSX to PS4 and PC. And I still playing video games. Not as often as I wished, but still.

i am 17.9 atm getting mah first ID that i can buy stuff with soon :p

anyways the average gamer lies between 15 and 23 i believe (i read that somewhere)

I'm also 30. I'd say the average age is certainly on the up as most of our generation played a lot of games and continue to do so.

You certainly aren't too old either. The only reason you can ever be too old to do something you enjoy is if it becomes a physical impossibility for you IMO.

Yes you ARE too old to be playing games. Give them all up and dedicate yourself to your work (and you'll stress out and die that much quicker).

i'm 29. i used to be able to sit in front of my tv/monitor for hours, even pull allnighters

now, i can only sit in front of a tv/monitor for an hour max.

You must of read that a long time ago, the average gamer now is in the 30's 40's range I believe.

Your never to old to be a gamer yo. I am very close to your age, and i am a gamer, my kids are gamers. I don't game nearly as much as i used to, but i buy them games, keep up with games, and own the best games on my library, and play here and there. Since we grew up as gamers, it was a huge part of us, i can't imagine not being interested in this fantastic exciting part of the media industry.

35 and still loving gaming as much as when I was a kid playing Atari 2600, NES, Commodore 64, 286, etc.

I think the avg gameplayer's age would raise quite a bit if not adding Nintendo gamers ages as well.That being my opinion,but I may be wrong.By the way,I'm 40 and got the maturity of a 17 year old. lol.

Including casuals or not? Because people who play angry birds on their smartphones are no true gamers. PC MASTER RACE!

I still get carded for Rated R movies. My girlfriend is 35 and I'm the reason she gets carded every time we go out for a drink.

I'm 23, my dad is going to be 50 this year. We both play video games and I often play video games with him and my brothers when I go to my parents house.

I am 23. Been gaming for as long as I can remember. My uncle played them all the time as did my mom so I became a gamer really early on lol. My uncle is almost 60 and still plays do you definitely are not too old for them. Never too old.

26 my dad got me into gaming. I've been gaming since I was like 4 or 5 years old.

No one is too old to play video games. :)

Very nice! I think that we people that grew up playing games, will end playing them. See, the people that are around 50s, 60s barely had video games to play. The great boom was in the final 70s and 80s. So that's why I think most of us will be the first generation of "old people" playing video games.
