Ok sometimes i have these dreams where i'm awake during them. i know i'm going to hear tons of people saying i'm insane or if i was smoking something right before them well the answer is no. i was wondering if anyone else has these sort of things happen to them or if anyone knows about them. There kind of coll when they happen but there also really annoying cuz i can't get to sleep when i have them.

ITS NOT DAYDREAMING.

isn't that when your able to control what your dreaming. like u could start changing colors around and stuff. I don't think i'm lucid dreaming if thats what it is cuz when they start i can't change them and i can't stop them. they have to end on there own.

Lucid dreaming is the conscious perception of one's state while dreaming, resulting in a much clearer experience and can be as if the dreamer were awake, even sometimes enabling direct control over the content of the dream, a realistic world that is to some degree in the control of the dreamer

I don't think thats what i'm getting cuz i'm postitive i'm awake. i looked at my clock, got up, and other things that make me positive that i was awake though. So unless lucid dreaming can happen when u are actually awake i have something different.

Closest thing I can relate to what you're experiencing is when I'm really tired and chilling in bed, it's kinda like consciously feeling myself fall asleep but being between sleep and being awake, I can feel myself wanting to wake out of it but it's almost like I'm powerless to. It can be pretty intense at times. And yeah, I'm not brain damaged or a drug user or anything, maybe just chalk it off as an unexplained occurrence?  We do know very little about how the brain works, especially in a dream state or a semi dream state.

Or maybe we can just blame violent video games!

I already said i'm positive its not daydreaming. Not to mention the obvious point why its not daydreaming is that its at night when i'm trying to go to sleep not when i'm bored at school or anything.

Havn't experienced that kind of dream. There's times when I wake from a dream, fall back asleep and fall back into the same dream :?. Then there's ones where I know I'm awake but I can kinda control my dreams, like I'll think of something and I'll dream it...or something like that.

Brains work in really weird ways...

They are kind of cool but there really annoying cause its impossible to go to sleep with them going. The last time it happened i started hitting my head to try and stop it. And sadly i can't control them. if i could it would be really cool but oh well.

Ok u know how dreaming when your sleeping and daydreaming are different. You can easily tell the difference. I'm trying to go to sleep and its like my body and mind are still awake but anoither part of my mind goes into a dream state and i start having a dream except i'm still awake for it. the funny thing is i can't really think about what happened in those dreams just like other dreams.

I sort of know what you mean...it's not a lucid dream.  I had a dream once where I was absolutely one hundred positive I was dreaming (it started with me at work in full uniform), but I couldn't believe it was a dream, because everything happened normally, on the same timescale, and all the people in it acted like they normally do.  I woke up really tired as well.

I'm not really sure what causes them, because that's the first time it happened.  But they're a seperate kind of dream.

Yea, I can do that. But I keep it simple, because I can't focus on a lot. I can get a character and sound, but that's pretty much it.

If it occurs when you're falling asleep (but not asleep), it could be hypnagogia.  Check it out.

Ok i checked that out and i know that that does sometimes happen to me but what i'm talking about is different. I know you'll probably won't believe me but i don't have any of these suggestions or none of those are what i'm talking about. i guess i have some freaky and rare sleeping condition. Great.
