It depends on what kind because there are so many sub-genres of Metal. I'll list a variety and you can pick out what sounds good to you:

Lamb of god, Lacuna Coil, Behemoth, Dragonforce, Amon Amarth, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, Static-X, Lord Gore, Cattle Decapitation, Gorgoroth.

Screamo is its own music genre. Take for instance Lamb of God, as mentioned above. their music consists of purely screaming, but the style of music is no where near Screamo, its just plain heavy metal. If you are not open to screaming of any kind, then you really should try to expand your music horizons. i used to hate it too, you know.

System of a Down introduced me to metal, then Bullet for my Valentine took it one step further with their screaming. After a few months i discovered Trivium, whoms music was just alot better in general, with better guitars, drumming, singing, screaming. But i still wanted something harder, so i started listening to Children of Bodom. Their guitars are beyond amazing, and they use mainly screaming in their music, with few exceptions. The sound of music was all i really cared about until i discovered the band Korn, who have been my favourite ever since.I have however, gotten sick of them, and im now listening to stuff like Papa Roach, Three Days Grace and more recently 36 Crazyfists. Try checking out some of the bands ive mentioned ;)

If you just cant learn to like screaming, then firstly you should check out all the good ol thrash metal bands out there.. Metallica, Megadeth etc.. Itd be alot easier if you told me what youre listening too now. oh, and dont get me wrong, i dont listen to music only because its hard, ill listen to anything as long as its good music. I even like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell.. and Kanye West.

:P I get kinda confused with the whole screamo, metal, nu metal thing. I by all means don't mind screaming. If they can pull it off right. (I guess that makes it pretty hard to suggest music :P since everyones taste is different.)

In This Moment (Maria Brink is both hot and a good metal vocalist. Good combo!)

Killswitch Engage (I prefer Howard Jones but Leach was also a good vocalist)

Maximum the Hormone (First metal band to make it onto the charts in Japan. The drummer is AWESOME!)

Nevermore (Warrel Danes unique vocals and Loomis's awesome guitar make this band stand out)

Nightrage-Old/New (Quality melodic death)

Static-X (Industrial metal at its best. Shallow yet oh so much fun)

Guys he said NO SCREAMO lol. If you like thrash metal, Megadeth is a must. Iron maiden is probably the best heavy metal band out there so they are a great choice. If you want some more speedy, power metal type music, definitely listen to albums from Gamma Ray. I think pretty much all their albums are good.

If you want some more speedy, power metal type music, definitely listen to albums from Gamma Ray. I think pretty much all their albums are good.

I know how you feel about the screaming vocals I'm the same way its good only when done properly or used for effect. I hate bands (and I won't name names) that beat you in the face with it EVERY SONG, its ridiculous really.

Heres some that I like that I haven't seen listed yet:

Testament

Black Label Society (Zakk Wylde=Guitar God)

Ozzy Osbourne

Black Stone Cherry (More southern rock than metal, but please give them a chance, you won't be disappointed)

PANTERA (can't believe that one hasnt come up yet)

Rob Zombie (interesting because it has a techno/dance quality to it)

Danzig (if you like good clean singing Glenn Danzig has an amazing voice)

Iced Earth (one of the fastest bands I listen to)

Firewind (One of the few good power metal bands out there)

Dream Evil (Again one of the better power metal bands out there, with the same guitarist as Firewind. Coincidence? I think not.)

Black Tide (very new band the lead singer/guitar player is only 15)

Dead Season (local band but their first album is on itunes check em out)

And lastly I like Saliva a lot though some don't like the whole rap metal thing, it CAN be done right and these guys prove that.

Sentenced - Ever Frost and Noose and Neverlasting. Awesome Metal band all around, check them out.

Pain of Salvation - Ashes . A 'progressive' metal band, they have a pretty nice variety in their music. Like this : Dea Pecuniae:)

Entombed - Damn Deal Done and Chief Rebel Angel . The only Death Metal band I listen too. They have a more rockish edge to their music that makes the music pretty awesome.

Well, on the first album by Poisonblack he decided that playing the guitar was cooler then singing but on the second album he picked it up again.. You should try the two last albums by Sentenced 'The Cold White Light' and 'The Funeral Album' if you like Poisonblack.
