The movie has gotten horrible reviews from the press. A lot of movie goers hated it as well. But, I really liked it. Vin Diesel is not exactly a great actor, but I enjoy his movies. And, to me, it was not bad. Lots of blowing up stuff and fight scenes like any action movie. Yes, it was nothing deep. But, the apocalyptic story line of a girl being rescued from terrorists by a loner reluctant to be a hero was done well.
It was decent but I thought it was weird as hell and I couldnt help but feel it were trying to convey an underlying message that I was just not understanding.
Babylon A.D was awful, bad acting, terrible story that has too many pointless plots that make no sense, a random love scene where ViN Deasel almost kisses that girl. Also speaking of the girl, that girl who he was taking to America was so irritating, i wanted him to smack her. Also the sappy ending was beyond pathetic. Worst movie of the year for me so far aside from Disaster movie.

I totally agree with that. Me and my friend sat in the theatre for like 5 minutes after the credits started and all we could say was, "Are you serious? They just ended it like that? Really? WTF". Not to mention the scene in the igloo house looking thing. "We're all going to die in New York. Goodnight." Everyone in the audience wtf'ed that one.

The whole movie was a prequel to The Pacifist, thats why he ends up with those kids at the end. Its all a prequel, The Pacifist 2 is going to be announced soon.

Fox cut out most of the parts that could've added to presentation, making it more mediocre than it could've been. It might've been a decent-alright movie if it didn't have such plot issues. The idea isn't that bad, but it was executed poorly and was confusing.
Even if you liked it, it's still a terrible, terrible movie. The director himself was quoted as saying something along the lines of "This movie is s***".
a) they explained the big "religion/church" power struggle a bit more/developed a better back story about the mother and
b) didn't completely **** up the ending
