Hoping to backpack the Scandinavian countries. No planned route, just wandering for a month or so. I probably won't be able to do it this year, but next year I will.

I'm doing 1,200 miles on the Appalachian Trail this summer. Where's that Dead Man's canyon?

I used to think the same thing until I realized it's just one foot in front of the other. All you need is time. :)

Good luck with your trip.

Do you know if the John Muir Trail is in the Sierra Nevada? I'm trying to thru-hike that after I get my degree.

Yeah, if you don't have a good sense of humour you won't like backpacking.

It took me a while to figure that out, but it's great to laugh at how miserable you are sometimes when you've been rained on for 3 days straight.

Nothing incredibly hardcore, but I still do a lot of backpacking with my Venture Company.

There's no difference between 5 miles and 5,000 miles. It's just a matter of time. Where do you hike with your company?
