Bands or artists with the worst fans

As much as i hate to say it, Tool. Tool is one of my fave bands, but most of their fans are obnoxious little twerps. I've been to three Tool shows and everytime I go there's always a bunch of 15 year olds who are stoned out of their tree and like "yeeeeah man! ****in pimp duuuude! ****in Tool maaaan!" It makes me cringe :x

Who do you think has the worst fans and why?

Avril Lavigne..

the nuts on the avril board ran the firefox extension (forgot what its called) thats just keeps refreshing the page on Avril Lavigne "Boyfriend" or whatever its called on youtube till it got to 100 million views..

ICP's Jugga-lugga-luggalo's are hilarious, but agree with OP's Tool claim - a lot of good bands have those hangers' on who thinks they are automatically all that is rock for liking the band. In fact, one gimp actually tried to shake my hand at a traffice light because I was playing Motorhead's Ace of Spade's in my car!

Also, while for the most part they are alright, but I have met so incredibly obnoxious Muse/Coldplay fans. Mostly due to the fact that they seem to think that their respective band is amazing and Radiohead is "tEh sUxXo0rs" despite the fact they were a huge influence onMuse/Coldplay.

Oh man juggalo's are the worst.

I worked with a couple of these guys, but one was just... well, horrible. He wore the ICP belt, the ICP hockey jersey, had an ICP hat, had ICP bumper stickers on his car and on his kitchen tool box. While working he would listen to ICP.

And once he over heard me say that ICP are sell outs, and he came around the counter and started yelling at me, almost ready to beat my face in.

As for a real band with the worst fans I'd say The Beatles. Now I like The Beatles but the most die hard Beatle fans always claim they are the end all be all of music and bash anyone who thinks there are better bands.

I agree with you about metal fans. They are fairly elitists and there are FAR too many sub-genres to metal, alot of which sound identical to another

Sorry, should have qualified that there. What I meant is, they are taken by some fans as being the words of Jesus if he had made metal. Sure, it isn't shallow, but it is by no mean "philisophical". I mean seriously, some people think Maynard is like the reincarnation of Socrates.

And I feel you're pain about Indie fans, being one myself, I have to deal with the BS of fellow fans and the over-hyping by musical hacks like Pitchfork and NME.

This also aggravates me. They were great musicians with great songwriting cohesion, but I can't imagine the number of times I've heard their fans that they singlehandedly revolutionized rock, pop, soul, funk, metal, etc. and they they were the most innovative band ever, when that's just not true.

You beat me to it man. They are just... blech. White trash creeps. I did read an article on them though that was completely objective and basically said that although they're gross, they're like a family to each other. A nasty, white trash family.

Insane Clown Posse. I've never met a fan of them who wasn't a complete douche. Even today, this one guy I hate (he doesn't know I hate him) was bragging to me about how awesome ICP is.

EDIT: And fans of Slayer, Opeth, Blind Guardian, and other metal like that. I don't hate them, but fans of these bands are always the weirdest kids that I wouldn't associate myself with.

Me too, but you should see some of these people at my school. All the do is brag how the have all their albums and completly shun every other band in existance. Its so funny but annoying at the same time.

It seems like everyone here is saying ICP so I had to post this article. There is definitely some foul language in it and some nudity. But it's really entertaining and informative. And hilarious.

I saw Opeth live and a few people were that way. It's funny.

Some fans of virtuoso guitarists and their bands can be pretty obnoxious. I'm talking about Petrucci/Dream Theater, Michael Romeo/Symphony X, Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, and Steve Vai. I like those guitarists/bands (except Malmsteen) but some of their fans are so annoying. They seem to think that if a song doesn't have 10 minutes of soloing then it's terrible.Bloodbath_87

Tool. Most of their fans think they're the greatest thing ever. I mean, the band is okay I guess, nowhere near close to as good as a lot of their fans make them out to be though.
