Bands that got worse later on?

The Rolling Stones. Like so many other great bands, not even the Stones could escape the artistically void black hole that was the 80's.

I believe every band has it's up and downs through their careers. You mature, your music tends to change and mature in a sense i suppose. You may not like it as much but you gotta respect them for trying something new although it ultimately fails too often. One band that comes to mind is Radiohead, how they went from a rock- alternative sound to an experimental, trancey tone, while still good it's just not the same.

Some others off the top of my head:

Metallica, Atreyu, Less Than Jake, U2, All That Remains, Green Day, Queensryche, AC/DC, Soul Asylum,The Beastie Boys, The Clash, AFI, Sponge, Foo Fighters, Incubus (so different now, what happened to enjoy and science), Killswitch Engage, STP, NIN, Marilyn Manson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Religion, White zombie/ Rob Zombie, Tiger Army, Catch 22( just glad we have streetlight manifesto!), and what the hell happened to Silverchair....ICK!

Guns 'N Roses, The Who, Van Halen and Oasis

One band that hasn't gotten worse: Rush.

What bands don't get worse later on? When I hear people talking they always say a bands early stuff, they never say they prefer their later stuff.xTheExploited
