This is the one I was thinking when I saw this thread. One I have is the singer of the band The Airborne Toxic Event sounds alot like Neil Diamond.

Blustery Caveat / Necrotic Disgorgement / Apostles of Perversion / Remnants of Flesh

to name very few - not necessarily a bad thing, though.

I also think that Savage Circus sounds a bit too much like Blind Guardian, but that might be just me...

I think Kris Allen and The Script sound similar. I also would say Train and the Plain White T's also sound similar for some reason. I don't know why that is when I can barely tolerate Train whereas I love the Plain White T's.

Being an avid metalcore fan, from an outsider's looking in perspective I could see why you would think they all sound similar.. But compare We Came as Romans to August Burns Red? The only real similarity is the fact that both are metalcore... Otherwise they could not be more different. :P

Well, some bands I like are The Beatles, The Stones, Genesis, The Grateful Dead, The Doors, Sly and the Family Stone, Queen, Radiohead, Wilco, Prince and the Revolution, NPG, among many others.

But even not going off of bands I'm a fan of, I still think they're not very good. For instance, I'm not a big fan of Greenday, but they are a hell of alot better than Simple Plan or Good Charlotte.

Well, yeah, there is far worse. I'm just saying that I don't think they're very good, not that they are the most terrible trash out there. To say that would definitely be hyperbole.

It's very unique..It makes some songs better because of how well it fits in (Still Ill for example). But there are some songs where I don't like Morrissey's voicewith Marr's guitar work. That's just my opinion..But then again, my knowledge about the Smiths isn't the greatest (besides Meat is Murder and a handful of tracks I've checked out).

I guess people can be overly critical of music that they wouldn't like to begin with... For instance, I really can not say, with much authority, that any said country artist is 'garbage' because I wouldn't like it regardless of if it was truly 'garbage' compared to other country music. I definitely feel like many OT members, metalheads in particular, harp on metalcore (one of my favorite genres) without having a true realization that it isn't 'bad', it's just not something they would enjoy. If that makes sense..
