But wtf is the security/police??? Theres cameras outside of the bank to see suspicious people and when you see a guy coming in with a surgical mask you can lock the doors and call for police right away ... theres supposed to be someone watching the cameras in real time lol.

I was just watching the Chicago news and there was a bank robbery by a guy wearing a surgical mask and all he had was a knife. I wonder why theres no security or police at banks. Thats rediculous. And why didn't any of the tellers press the emergency call button for the police to come? This is just one of the few bank robberies that can be easily dealed with.nVidiaGaMer

People DO hit the emergency button, but it's not like the police show up immediately. Anyway, standard procedure is to do what the hell the bank robbers tell you to do. It is VERY easy to rob a bank, because they are trained on how to handle robberies, and they don't try to be heroes. They give you the money, they do exactly what you tell them to, and they avsolutely won't try to stop you. You can rob a bank with a simple handwritten note, without even PRESENTING a weapon, and you can easily drive away with craploads of cash before the cops ever show up.

The thing is, the FBI takes bank robbery VERY seriously. The penalties are frighteningly severe, and they'll use all their resources to catch your ass. Bank robbery isn't the kind of crime you just get away with. You might get away with robbing a 7-11, but when you rob a bank you'd best count on the feds tracking your ass down.

As I said, bank robbers should best assume that they're gonna get caught, because the FBI does not take bank robbery lightly.

However, as someone else said, standard procedure is to just give them the money and then let the FBI deal with it. Why hire guards to prevent bank robberies when SOP is to NOT interfere with the robbers' attempt to steal money? Many bank robbers go in ARMED. As in, with multiple robbers each carrying guns. What the hell is a security guard going to do, other than unnecesarily get shot? How is that going to change things for the OTHER bank employees, aside from making them more likely to get murdered simply because the robbers had to already fill a security guard full of holes just to get in the damn building?

We're talking about BANKS. We do not need shootouts at banks. Posting armed guards at banks is just gonna ensure that people get shot.

Well if I was that teller I would just be like.. BAM knuckle sandwich. Then the robber would be like "what was that for" and slowly walk out of the bank with is head hung in shame.

Then I would get fired.
