Case in point, you don't see people outraged over WW2 FPS but you do see people throw their arms up over a modern FPS (Medal of Honor taliban fiasco)Because people can relate more to recent events than the past.

He must've figured that the WW2 vets must've had enough acknowledgement from people the past 60 years.LonelynightJust because it wasn't recent doesn't mean that we should forget those who served during those wars.

Joke or?

Who forgot about them?
The reason Obama puts more emphasis on the troops today is because they're there risking their lives right now. It's not like he's pretending past wars didn't happen.
While he's at it he should remember the American Revolution Vets, the various lives lost fighting the native americans, the War of 1812, the civil war, all of the US boys killed over in Africa in the Barbary war, Spanish-American War...
You see what I'm getting at? Afghanistan and Iraq are the most recent wars fought. So it's natrual he would remember those who died fighting there.
As the current President, he is the on sending those troops to die
I think it's important for him to focus on the live under his watch. Because at least then, I can say he has a personal connection to what he's saying. Once he starts dwelling in past wars, then it becomes your typical PR speech.
That's because noone really does show respect for the World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Korean War and those who fought in Operation Desert Storm in the 1990s. Obama all he talks about during Memorial Day is of the soldiers in Afghanistan right now which makes me sick.
Basically what Obama is saying that he thinks the soldiers today in Afghanistan fought harder than our grandfathers in World War II

In what way is he saying that?

Oh for the love of....
That is not what he's saying. He's talking about our troops in Afghanistan because they are the ones fighting and dying right goddamn now. And how in the hell can you say no one shows respect for vetrans of the World Wars, Korea, Vietnam or Desert Storm? What rock have you been living under?

What a load of BS, no it even beyond that!
Do you expect him to just randomly start talking about WW2 in one of his speeches or something? This seems like one of the most artificial reasons to be annoyed with anyone I've ever heard.
I am now convinced that there is literally no purpose to rebutting Obama detractors, as there is literally nothing that he could do that could possibly make them happy; they dislike what he does because he is Obama, not because of the content or substance of what he's done.
[QUOTE="DroidPhysX"]Well we are fighting a war there...so....IPWNDU2
So... we shouldn't remember those from the past?
What is this...I don't even...:| That is not at all what Obama said or implied.
Whoa buddy. Back the hell up. My parents didnt vote for McCain or Obama. Everyone in our family voted for Ralph Nader
Pretty much. If he had mentioned everyone the TC listed someone else (or maybe even TC) would still have complained about him missing something. Shrodinger's complaint I guess.I am now convinced that there is literally no purpose to rebutting Obama detractors, as there is literally nothing that he could do that could possibly make them happy; they dislike what he does because he is Obama, not because of the content or substance of what he's done.

Because he didn't acknowledge EVERYONE who has served specifically that is reason to be annoyed? Talk about tedious. . .
Obama, this has to be the worst president this country has had, or close to it. I don't keep up with the polls. If the terrorist are planing on destroying this country, they better hurry, cause this clown for a president is beating them to it. To stay on topic, every speech this guy makes to military personal is not well put, and you can tell this guy has no leadership when talking about anything. I remember his awful speech back in March of last year speaking to the troops in Afghanistan, uplifting speech my ass. It was depressing, that is not a leader talking. Anyways, my opinion. He just seems to miss key points when talking to soldiers or have any Military knowledge or little awareness when speaking, and when he is being attacked by people who are against him, he responses are childish and he belittles people a lot in his speeches. Whatever, guy is not a leader in my book compared to other Presidents. He also has made cracks on the bible, I just think this guy is very disrespectful and far from professional in a majority of his speeches on strong topics. HT89488
Remind me,how did this idiot become president again?
If he had made a six-hour speech on the WWII and ODS veterans, you would still have been mad that he didn't mention the Vietnam veterans.TheokhothBottom Line: People are never fully satisfied.

I'm not trying to disagree, I think Obama is doing some things wrong as well, but I've never found him to be a bad public speaker. BUSH was a bad public speaker. They stopped making him do public speakings after that shoe incident because he always said the wrong things. But yeah, give me some examples, or atleast footage. There's footage of every stupid thing Bush has said so there is bound to be some of Obama. If not, then you're just making things up.
