Yes, for once I, Pyro767, am NOT sourcing FOX news or GB. This time I am sourcing a place called Ramussen Reports. Here's the link:

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

For those of you who didn't read the thing, President Barack Obama's current approval rating according to users on this site is only 47%.

According to Wikipedia, here's the numbers from other sources:

Rasmussen Reports: 47%

USA Today/Gallup: 53%

CNN/Opinion Research: 56%

CBS News/New Youk Times:58%

NBC/Wall Street Journal: 53%

Pew: 54%

FOX News/Opinion Dynamics: 54%

ABC News/Washington Post: 59%

But you know what? I bet that I'll just be flamed for this because this isn't a "reliable resource." But I did what people wanted me to and I didn't source GB or FOX so I don't care. So there you go, there's the numbers. I won't make a comment so as to appear unbiased.

Ramussen is a reliable source, but I still don't take these polls into consideration, because most of them only include 1000-2000 people. The Ramussen one is 1,500 people.

The same thing happened to Bush, where he began nicely, then his approval ratings plummeted. *Hmmmmmmmmm*

Ramussen is a reliable source. I however, prefer to use Gallup because I think it's polling is more accurate. That one sits at 53%. Either way, I'm not concerned about it. Every President experiences rating fluctuations.

Hmm, do you think so? I hadn't really thought of the effects of the health care debate, but I can see why it would bring down his approval.

Nevertheless, I don't think his approval will pick up significantly until unemployment decreases and the economy recovers more.

I seem to recall (from the election) that Ramussen had a slight Republican lean... but, yes, it is a good pollster.

Not sure he's THAT reliable, though of course Obama's honeymoon period is over.

Even though it isn't seen as reliable, I posted 8 numbers all below 60%. Even ABC gave it less. THAT is saying something.

Listen, all Presidents are disappointing. That's just how it happens. I believe this healthcare debate is taking its toll on Obama's ratings. Hopefully we can improve our hc and move on.

Sure, new Presidents almost always start with artificially high approval numbers (change of candidate and/or party indicates desire for a change and a public assumption that the new President will totally change things, pumping up their poll numbers). Obama's average numbers are still historically pretty high, but can be expected to come down to be more in line with other recent Presidents' numbers over time, I'd imagine. Hopefully, this will result in more realistic expectations for his administration.

...Yes, it's saying that Obama has actually gotten to work and the touchy-feely honeymoon associated with a new president is gone, as it always is. The moment a president actually starts doing things, the people on the other ideological side are reminded of why they don't like him and begin to disapprove. Acting as if something has happened to Obama that does not happen to every single president ever is not in congruence with history.

It was bound to happen. The honeymoon period wouldn't last forever. That and all these crazy death panel rumors flying around, which are bound to have an effect.

Approval raitings are complete garbage.. most americans don't know what's good for them... we need a nice strong figure to do what we can't do for ourselves.

Haha, right. I can't believe people listen to that garbage that's being spewed out of Fox News and the libertarian think tanks.

It does, or at least they are always lower than the rest for Obama.

Anyway, his numbers are lower, but I wouldn't say they are in free fall. His approval rating is still pretty much the same as the perecentage of people who voted for him.

ironically I was more worried during the campaign how people would react to Obama, but now that I see the way ignorant white Americans are reacting to the current debate and being massivly duped by the right wing media and the false assuptions and rumors floating around I am severely disappointed in this country. In fact it has gotten so bad that the UK has done this.

Knowing that other countries are starting to get defensive as a result of the right wing propoganda machine makes me wish to God people in this country would try to learn facts before they engage in verbal diarrhea.

His ratings is dropping alittle, but its still pretty good. But when you try to do something like Healthcare reform your gonna have people who disagree and dont like whats going on. so hes doing something thats not going to be popular to everyone. But to say its Approval Rating is Plumetting isnt true. Its dropping but nothing huge.

Though not everyone agrees on what needs to be done with Healthcare reform, republicans are benifiting from all lof this. in who people trust more, repubilcans are only trusted by something like 14%. Democrats are still around 38-40%.

But when he took office, the economy was sinking, there was a huge housing problem, the auto industry was falling apart, Banks were failing etc. So You got to say things have gotten alot better.

And this is a surprise to people? Were people saying that Obama's approval ratings were going to say in the high 60's forever? This always happen to every president. If I were Obama right now, I'd be just fine with those numbers.

People forget he came into office with the highest approval ratings I believe since they started tracking the statistic, it was bound to drop sooner or later. Besides, all the blatant lies out there about his reform are no doubt dragging it down. I think that as soon as the legislation has been written for a final vote and congressmen start coming out with details that debunk those lies people are going to be a lot happier about all this.

he comes in a jams a crap load of garbage down the American people's throat and doesn't even bother to repeal the craptastic Bush bailouts (that he also voted in favor for)......he deserves what he gets....
