Well im a big guy and can easily push around defenders. When I practice with noone on me I can hit the shots even if I do the same thing I would do in a game. But at practice I back the guy down make him goto one side then goto put it up and it just wont go in. It'll be so close but wont go in. Any tips guy im kind of desprate because my coach wants me to goto his GYM where he playd bball with him and I want to be able to get these shots in so I dont suck against these guys.

You need more practice playing with pressure is what you need. If you have the skills to put the ball where it needs to go, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you have a clean shot.

Exactly, practice more with pressure and you'll get better. This is the same with many sports. Soccer for example, it's pretty pointless spending years on end trying to become a great striker if you can't effectively work with your team to get by the defence.

1. Use the backboard.

2. When you shoot around by yourself, don't just stand around shooting jumpers from all over the place, take the kinds of shots you would take in a game, against a defender...backing down, turning around etc.

3. Practice a little bit of a reliable inside move. Back down toward the basket with the ball. Lean in a bit. Turn around and fall back a bit to make some space, then put up your shot.

4. If all else fails, maybe you're just not a shooter. Plenty of guys with big bodies earn their keep on a court by collecting rebounds. You're build will wear down smaller guys. Use the pump fake to get defenders in the air and draw fouls. The pretty part of the game might not be your thing.

Some good inside man moves.

1. Develop a reliable hook shot so you can do something other then take inside every time.

2. If your one-on-one with another big man, every know and then pivot around and face him, and make sure that your elbows are pointed straight out. Odds are he dosen't want to take a elbow to the face, creating seperation between you and him.

3. WORK ON BOTH HANDS. This is going to take time, but you should be able to finish with either hand. Defenders have been taught to overplay the right hand, average left handers look like all-stars because most defenders can't figure it out to change their defensive game.

4. If, like you said, your shots just aren't falling, try just some straight up power or speed moves. I know it sounds dumb, and most people won't admit it, but after a spin move or such you can get a little disoriented with the hoop location, and if you know exactly where the hoop is at, your more likely to make the shot.

5. Just try backing him underneath the hoop for a easier shot. Once you start moving a guy its pretty likely he's going to get overly agressive on you.

And ankle sprain? If your not already taping it, start doing that, if that dosen't work look into a brace, and talk to your trainer/coach about icing after practice.

Yeah, and make sure you are using the backboard efficiently down low. It's tougher to practice post-moves by yourself then it is to pratice jumpshots, so that might be worth trying when practicing by yourself, anyone that is solid in more than one dimension of scoring is going to be a dangerous offensive player.

hmmmmm, maybe you shouldnt practice by urself anymore. you should practice with a friend or sthg, that way you will get used to someone pressuring you and you will do better in the games.
