Becoming a firefighter while still in school?

How hard would it be to go through training to become a firefighter while still going to college? I would like to have a part time job as a firefighter for a few years for the experience, but I'm still in school. Should I wait until next summer to do training or something?

If you're serious about it, you're probably better off researching it on your own, since the requirements are different for each state. I know you have to be in great physical condition and various college courses are usually required.

I'm not sure what country you're in, but here in Australia you can join the cadet brigade from the age of 12 like I did. Once you turn 16 you can be an actual member, pass an exam and then go out on fire calls, which is optional if you're a volunteer.
