you can get plenty of scientifical answers with a google search...but ok i'll throw my grain of sand. the studies which say that gaming is harmful are completly biased.

its not biased, it speaks the truth, go and find out for yourself, most of those studies are false and have been proven to be biased since the beginning and some of them even had altered results.

I actually meant sand, as the sand you see in the beach...the expression "my grain of salt" is actually a misstranslation for "voy a poner mi granito de arena..." (im going to put my grain of SAND) thats the original expression which was invented centuries ago and used mostly in spain.

It's beneficial for some and not for others. With western mainstream gaming (especially in the US) i wouldn't say it's that beneficial compared to other past times. However it's more beneficial with PC games (though not as much as it used to be) as its a common entry point into comp-sci, pre-plug-and-play it was more beneficial as you were lucky if you could run a game without knowledge of drivers and such also there is a small possibility that someone will end up playing a game in Russian or German because PCs don't have proper regioning (there is some but it's very limited) and the entry cost for development is much lower. Aboard it has more benefits as it exposes people to different cultures, especially in Europe with different countries and people who speak different languages being so close to one another. TBH though most of these benefits are due to the internet and not games, the only benefit that's not due to the internet and not shared with pretty much all other popular past-times is the entry to comp sci however these days that's heavily reliant on the internet for programming tutorials and downloading tools. IMO you should change your title to something like "Is global communication between young people a good thing?" then you could bring up multi-player gaming as a sub topic alongside things such a sexting and chat rooms ect. IMAO it does seem a bit juvenile to write a paper on the benefits of gaming. It makes it sound like you're trying to make an excuse to play games and not do other things as no matter who you ask no one (unless their circumstances are really unusual, in which case you should limit your scope to just those people) is going to say that playing games is the most beneficial thing you could do at any one moment.

Child development and entertainment studies tend to be just here-say with no hard proof, or if they do have proof there's another study which will contradict them.

Better hand eye coordination. Greater ability to control your dreams. Greater logic/reasoning ability (excluding shooters). That's about all I can think of atm. There's a ton of negative effects tho. Decreased eyesight. Greater chance of arthritis/carpal tunnel. Disconnection from moral situations (kill enough ppl in a game n ur brain starts to think it's more and more acceptable). Enhanced sense of driving ability. So on and so forth.

There are studies that suggest that gamers are more intelligent. I don't have a source, but if you search a little bit you may find it. Also girls that play have a bigger libido according to another story, but that is norweigean

Games teach you to shoot and kill people without hesitation. Write that in your paper.

But don't you have to rob stores and pepper spray a dozen people to get a Xbox?

Gamers are more likely to find something that's lost more quickly than a non gamer.
