I won't deny there are much better books, but my favorite book is Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis.

i really enjoyed Spellsinger. great book. if you like narnia i think it's a must read. it's a little more mature do to the language. but it's got humor and talking animals. it's by Alan Dean Foster.

George Martin -- A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones, Clash of Kings, Storm of Swords, Feast for Crows).

It completely outclasses every other work of High Fantasy that I've read.

anything from dickens; Bleak House, Our Mutual Friend, etc... I really enjoyed Series of Unfortunate Events, I think it is passed off as way more of a childrens series than it actually is. Of course I love Harry Potter, Rowling is a genius. Some of my favorites which I recommend to anyone arre The Stranger by Albert Camus, A Prayer for Own Meany by John Irving, The Poisonwood Bible (even though I hate her as a human being) by Barbara Kingsolver, Ian Flemmings original James Bond books, hmmm so many good books...

Hmm...Heart of the Comet (dual authors), The Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, House of the Scorpion by Nancy Cooper, well...let's just say I'm not sure which one is my favorite.

So far I'd have to say The Wheel of Time series, by Robert Jordan.

He's not quite done writing it yet, supposed to be 12 books, 11 are out...

First book is The Eye of the World.

Vertical Run by Joseph Garber.

Sweet, sweet action-packed novel. Here's sort of a teaser for it:

Each morning in his 45th floor executive office, David Elliot savors the quiet
moments until the workday begins.

Until today, when his boss walks in and aims a gun at him.

For the rest of the day, he will be trapped in his midtown office building, and
everyone David Elliot meets will try to kill him.

He has 24 hours to find out why. . .

There's so many great books out there that have had a profound effect on me that it's hard to choose. I'll just grab one at random and go with a Haruki Murakami's "Dance Dance Dance".

Matthew Reilly's Ice Station.

Seriously, it kicks the **** out of any action movie EVER made.  It's literally insane.  Huge shootouts with killer whales eating people alive anyone?  Yeah ... that's right.
