[QUOTE="daqua_99"][QUOTE="Dark__Link"]Funny video, unfortunately a lot of iPhone owners are like that... But he ABSOLUTELY should be fired for it. I wouldn't want to employ a prick who hates the customers he's supposed to be serving (which is obvious given the video).Dark__Link
Just because you say something bad about customers doesn't mean you hate them. I work in retail and I do whatever I can to help customers. One customer wanted a single clove of garlic but we only had packs of ten, so I ripped up a pack and sold him one separate. Against company policy yes, but it helped the customer and it cost the company zilch. However when customers are idiots I do poke fun at them when I go out back. For example, today there were two boxes of mushrooms next to each other, a customer asked "what's the difference?" and I replied "nothing, they are the same mushrooms". He then replied to me "oh, so do they cost the same", where I said "yes, they are the same mushrooms", and he asked "do they taste the same?". I felt like yelling "THEY ARE THE ****ING SAME!", but I restrained myself to laugh about it with a co-worker out back.
Yeah I know... but there's a difference between having a laugh about it with a co-worker... and making a video online with gratuitous amounts of swearing and insulting. It's clear to me that he hates them, but no matter what you discern about that employee from the video, it's negative. Best Buy would be completely justified in firing him.I'm not saying that he shouldn't be fired, I just think that they should look at his overall performance and not just this one incident. If he has been rude to customers, lazy and ignorant before, then sure, this could be the final nail in the coffin. However if this was the first incident in an otherwise uneventful employment term, then I would go towards a written warning over an instant dismissal. He may have not known the implications of this and if his previous work has been good he should be given a chance.
