I would say either a song of ice and fire series or the dark tower, mainly because the song of ice and fire series is the bst fantasy series ever......EVER!

Harry Potter, and only because those are the only ones I've been able to finish more than a chapter of. I can't stand most fantasy books.

dont bother reading all the wheel of time books, after number 8 they got terrible. The wheel of time series started out great,
then it had to add dumb melodrama and bad love plots.

I'll choose The Dark Tower, even though the quality dropped off in the last few books.

I had thought about starting the series again - I am not a big fan of melodrama or romance - there were subtle romantic sub-plots if I remember right in the first couple books - I might reconsider

Topic WINS for having both A Song of Ice and Fire and Dark Tower as poll options. Anyway, definitely A Song of Ice and Fire. It is made of absolute win and should be required reading for all. If I ever end up managing a chain of motels, the first thing I'll do as manager is stock each room with a hardback copy of A Game of Thrones, instead of the copy of The Bible that lesser motel chains stock.

mat was my favorite character, if that was the kid from the hero's main village that liked to gamble and had super-human luck - I might pick the series up - I am still curious on what happened

I don't know about best of all time, but I've enjoyed the Harry Potter series, as well as The Lost Years of Merlin (T.A. Barron) series and the book The Green Rider (Kristen Britain).

Same. Also, I'll have to go along with the vote on His Dark Materials series.

Fantasy books are my favorite type of novel. I have a huge collection.
