Who would you say has the best track record in making films?

I like Peter Jackson's work.

I'm trying to find great directors so I can find some enjoyable films

Spike Lee, Scorscese, John Singleton, and Antoine something... the dude who did Training Day and Brooklyn's Finest

I would say the best directors are:

Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarintino, Peter Jackson, Stephen Spielburg, J.J. Abrams, Martin Scorcase (sp), Christopher Nolan, and James Cameron

Uwe Boll and M. Night Shyamalan. [spoiler] not! :P I like Peter Jackson too, and Spielberg [/spoiler] flipin_jackass

He has done every thing from Hollywood block busters ( actually invented summer blockbuster :P ) like Jurassic Park, family clas sics like ET, and emotional pieces like Schindler's List.

He also headed the creation of Dreamworks (the S in SKG is for him)

Edit: Oops for some reason i just read this as the most consistent directors...but yea he may not be knownfor directoring, but several movies by Charlie Kaufman are great (Eternal Sunshineof the Spotless Mind, "Synecdoche, New York" and Being John Malkovich)
