I always liked (when I played) Gibson and BC Rich. Gibsons are probably the best as far as mainstream, affordable brands go. Fenders aren't all that great anymore, as far as I know.

It's all a matter of personal preference. Jacksons are my favorite. I also love Gibson Les Pauls. I also like Ibanez.

Ovation does make amazing acoustic guitars. :)

Although with bass, I gotta hand it to Warwick, I haven't been disappointed with any Warwick that I've tried.

Yeah, my mom has one. She never tuned it in years, and it still sounds great.

But I haven't tried a Warwick. I tried a Musicman Stingray and an IbanezEDB400 bass at a music store, and I preferred the Stingray.

There is no "best", it all depends on what kind of sound you're going for. My favorite is Ibanez though.

It depends on what type of music you are playing. I find that many people think that Gibson guitars are better for hard rock/metal/alternative and Fender guitars are better for blues and bluesy rock.

I play a cheap fender strat knock off made by Yamaha. It's definitely not the best, but it does the job.

My personal favorites: Paul Reed Smith.

You can also check out carvin guitars. They are all handmade to order on their site. They are REALLY nice.
