Is it Home Alone? Me thinks so. How about you, OT? I'll also throw Elf in there too.

Some good mentions already. I'm going to add Tokyo Godfathers.

A film that happens to be on Christmas, I don't think necessarily counts as a Christmas movie. I would count stuff like Jingle Bells, Home Alone, The Grinch, and such as Christmas movies. Films where the center is actually Christmas. :/

As for me, it would have to be The Polar Express.

The Ref is pretty funny.

Right off the bat I don't believe a holiday movie must be happy. The horror genre is what really separates itself when speaking of such films. I'm good watching Silent Night Deadly Night, Don't Open 'Till Christmas, Black Christmas, etc..,

First two Home Alones, Muppets Christmas Carol, the one with Jim Carry too. Still love Polar Express too!

@Chutebox: agreed on the Muppets Christmas Carol! That is my favourite take on the Christmas Carol.

I’d also put Elf and National Lampoon’s Christmas vacation as my top favourites.

From what I have seen it looks interesting and something on the lines of the Silent Night Deadly Night remake from 2012. Hell, it might be bad but the previews give it some kind of panache usually missing.

It’s a Wonderful Life.

No other Christmas movie in the same ballpark.

Go 1999 was pretty good but the movie really doesn't appeal to me like it did in the late 90's.
