This is my personal favorite:D

http://www.sffaudio.com/images/large/MGMBubbaHoTep500.jpg

Bubba Ho tep is one of the weirdest horror films I have ever seen, its funny, creepy and genius all at the same time. My Second choice for best horror film of the decade goes to Session 9:)

http://www.impawards.com/2001/posters/session_nine.jpg

I can't decide between the two, one is a genius mix of comedy and horror while the other is the most atmosphere and creepy horror film I have seen in years.

Alien vs Predator Requiem :roll:Premier1101

That film was so ridiculous and over the top it actually almost made me hate the aliens. Thats twice they have failed with the AVP franchise, they should just get a good director like Neil Marshall.

1. The Session 9 poster picture has been bandwidth owned.

2. My vote goes to the Dawn of the Dead remake. Kinda made me nervous that the zombie invasion took place so close to where I live... >_>

I actually found them funny, especially the scene in AVP when that girl and the predator are running down the hallway in slow motion like some kind of buddy cop movie:lol:

i thought Doomsday was really good, it was a throwback to those classic 80s films like mad max, excaliber and escape from new york. Dog soldiers too was really good imo.

somehow maybe, good only if they made that movie to show some respecs to those movies.. but imo it's not a good way to judge about a movie..i mean, judge it separately and tell me what do u think?

The ring. It's a genuinely creepy movie. Don't watch the second one though, it ruins everything the first one set up. Don't watch any other japanese horror remakes for that matter, just the ring.

By itself it was still a really fun film with over the top villians, ridiculous violence and action scenes all mixed together. The homages were just the icing on the cake. Same thing with Hot Fuzz, its still funny if you don't get the references but the humor and film overall works better if you get the homages and references.

28 Days Later was amazing, 28 Weeks Later was alright but didn't quite top the first one. I also enjoyed the House of Wax remake as well.

Nothing else really comes to mind, everything great about horror was done in the 70's-90's.

I only saw the house of wax remake to see paris hilton die, then i stopped caring about it. 28 days later was great too I agree, 28 weeks later however seemed very shallow to me.

To me, without a doubt -- Shaun of the Dead

Other great films: A Tale of Two Sisters, The Descent, Haute Tension, Wolf Creek, The Hills Have Eyes, The Host, The Devil's Backbone (I think 00s)

Bad, Bad decade for horror, it's become nothing but a genre cesspool for really bad remakes, sequels, and just very uninspired BS.

Oldboy wouldn't really be considered horror at all.

And yes ofcourse none of the films even come close to topping the original The Shining movie.

There are several horror films that are better than the Shining; Shelly Duvall and the usuall one-trick-pony King material take me out of the film. It has it's moments but it's a very weak Kubrick film.

Can I ask why you and so many other people loved that movie. I was on verge of falling alseep when I was watching it. I thought it was boring. Maybe cause im used to all the action high american movies and I was expecting so much. I thought the monster was kinda cool and there some good joke but there wasn't really lot to keep me interested.

exactly, the vampires were more like nosferatu, as opposed to the nymphomaniac aristocrats in newer movies.
