6. Cynic - Traced in Air
10. Wyrd - All their albums during this decade

All great albums, although I wouldn't put them in my top. Mine are in random order. The top 10-11 are about right on top though.

1. Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain
2. Anaal Nathrakh - All of their albums

7. Anata - All of their albums released this decade
8. Bloodbath - All of their albums, period. Say otherwise and you're wrong. :x
9. Nightrage - First two albums. Best melodic death ever.
10. Belphegor - Pestapokalypse VI
11. Behemoth - Evangelion, but all of their albums are good (Demigod is probably the weakest)
12. Bolt Thrower - Those Once Loyal
13. Spawn Of Possession - Cabinet
14. Skinless - Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead
15. Origin - Antithesis
16...

I'll cut it there. I'll be listing great albums forever. :P

If I had to list just one album from them it'd be Hell Is Empty, And All The Devils Are Here. They've got all the aspects of their sound covered. It's like the perfect compilation album and it even has a song more intense than Pandemonic Hyperblast. :o All their stuff is fantastic though.

I think I'll go for Shallow Life by Lacuna Coil even if they changed their genre from goth metal to plain old alternative.

Here's mine in no order except for the first one being the best, of course:

  • Back to Times of Splendor - Disillusion
  • The Mantle - Agalloch
  • Ashes Against the Grain - Agalloch
  • The Dreadful Hours - My Dying Bride
  • The Sham Mirrors - Arcturus
  • To the Nameless Dead - Primordial
  • Blackwater Park - Opeth
  • Blood Inside - Ulver
  • Shadows of the Sun - Ulver
  • Mabool - Orphaned Land
  • Crimson II - Edge of Sanity
  • The Eye of Every Storm - Neurosis
  • Panopticon - Isis

and there's probably more but I can't remember them.

Castigation And Betrayal totally beats Pandemonic Hyperblast in my opinion. It doesn't relent unlike Pandemonic Hyperblast which slows down halfway through and gives way to an instrumental segment. Not to mention the bridge on Castigation And Betrayal is unbelievably bizarre. The production isn't as good for C&B as it is for Pandemonic Hyperblast though.

It's diverse and there's no extreme vocals that usually push me away from this kind of music. Guess that's why I enjoy it. My favorite track is probably I, and I also found the 2nd half to be better.

Same. I just don't care about the voice or the lyrics in Nevermore songs.

I actually bought Loomis' solo album. Pretty cool even if it's a little hard to digest in one sitting.

Exactly! The vocals annoy the living **** out of me, it's almost like power metal. Thank god there's none of that in Zero Order. Jato Unit is my favorite track of the album (I know it's silly but that one second at the start just gives me the chills). However, I feel that the way the tracks were ordered could be better... Azure Haze really cuts the furious mood that Opulent Maelstrom and Jato Unit build up. Otherwise it's a great album.

In no particular order:

Lacrimosa - Sehnsucht

After Forever - After Forever

Apocalyptica - Reflections

Children Of Bodom - Follow The Reaper

Dark Lunacy - Devoid

Eluveitie - Slania

Haggard - Awaking The Centuries

Haggard - Eppur Si Muove

Mägo de Oz - Gaia II: "La voz dormida"

Nightwish - Once

Opeth - Blackwater Park

Sentenced - The Funeral Album

Sinamore - A New Day

Sonata Arctica - Winterheart's Guild

To/Die/For - Jaded

Within Temptation - The Silent Force

My knowledge of Metal is so limited it's painful.
