Cloverfield.
It was simply awesome, scary, and eery. God it really was amazing. And no, it doesnt tell you where the monster comes from...now get over it, and go enjoy the movie.
Worst recent movie I saw has to be 3:10 to Yuma, btw....I watched that whole damn movie waiting for "sharpshooter" Christian Bale to unleash some badassedness like he always does but no...he gets shot trying to prove to his emo son he is a manly man.
i saw "there will be blood" last week and its awesomeness cannot be described.Film-Guy
Good choice, it is indeed a great movie. Daniel Day-lewis is such a great actor its almost scary how convincing he is.
yeah, his presense almost reminds me of charlton heston (exept generally with more evil roles).

3:10 To Yuma was one of the most moving pieces of cinema in the last decade
I recently bought The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and, 'oh my god.' This movie was simply amazing, one of the best movies I have seen to date probably. The performances by Brad Pitt and Casey Affleck were just astounding. Especially Brad Pitt, He conveyed that perfect mix of Tough Guy Outlaw Jesse James, but he clearly sent the message across that he was only human, with real emotions that could be pulled and plucked like a string. The direction by Andrew Dominik was just breathtaking, with washed out scenes that added to the dreary and dark atmosphere that the movie signified.
I also saw Sweeney Todd, and thought it was brilliant. I am Legend, which was really good, Will Smith's best acting to date. And, No Country for Old Men, which was really good also.

your not a man till you see Rambo.
I saw it at the Mann theater:D
Coincidence, or fate?
"Talk to Me" (story of Petey Greene)
and "Palindromes" (saw it yesterday).

Talk to me is one of my favorite movies, Don Cheadle is a really good actor. You should see Reign over me, thats another good Cheadle movie.
Yeah, I just saw Reign Over Me not too long ago, really really good. So ElArab, what did you think of Palindromes?
Anyway, a movie I just saw that was excellent was The Brave One. If you like Jodi Foster and Terrance Howard, check it out.

Yeah I saw that one two, it's got shadows of the collosus in it!!! I'm still surprised by that.
Great movie though, Sandler surprised me too, just goes to show that he doesn't have to always be stupid/funny.
EDIT: @ Justplainlucas
Took me a minute, but once I understood it, I was like "" it's just one of those "wow" movies. I loved how it...
made you think every single person was different, yet, parents were the same, names were the same, etc, and then you realize that, you shouldn't have really "trusted your eyes", although, I didn't understand who "huckleberry" was, you know, the kid who got in the little fisher price looking boat.
Anyway, my quick one sentence review of Palindroms: "Brilliant and extremely well done and very 'well constructed' , A+!"
JustPlainLucas
Glad you liked it. :) I think the Mama Sunshine segment was the best.
Lol yeah, that was seriously..."memorable" (ha, I'm saying that as if the whole thing wasn't), can't think of any other way to describe that!
Oh, and the "lala" song was used a bit much but hey, that's prety much the only flaw of the movie. That's just me nitpicking though.

The Brave one was alright, even though it was pretty much Death Wish with a girl. They even ripped the subway shoot out directly from Death Wish. Death Sentence is another good revenge movie.
Last week I saw Atonement and There Will be Blood I loved both, and last night I saw Jesues Camp and it really pissed me off and got me scared for the future of the U.S.
Probably Gangs Of New York.SolidSnake35
more badassery from daniel day-lewis. its one of my favorites.

Which one? Is is the one with gary oldman from the 90s?
thats the only vampire movie that portrayed the novel accurately.
Sure, the production values are a little bad, but it was awesome and faithful to the book. And it as Winona Ryder, she is a fox!

Yeah but her british accent was terrible, so was Keanus. I wanted to hit him every time he spoke.
