For me it'd have to be The Man From Nowhere (this trailer doesn't do the film justice)

I just watched this film last night and i have to admit that it's probably the best film i've seen in quite a while. I hadn't even heard of it before yesterday, but i highly recommend it. anyone agree/disagree? What other movies have you guys seen and recommend?

I like the Man from Nowhere. Great film. I'd say the best movie I've seen recently is Return of Chen Zhen.

Must say, foreign movies have spoiled me. American fight scenes look terrible by comparison.

Watched For the Bible Tells Me So the other night and thought it was a pretty interesting documentary. Especially considering myself to be a christian, i found the whole fundamentalist argument to be laughable and convoluted about homosexuality in the bible.

I watched Nil by Mouth this morning, which was very very good. As far as something recently released, I saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes last weekend, and it was surprisingly enjoyable.

Whilst it wasn't too recent, The King's Speech was excellent.

I think you would like it. If you like Argento or Lynch, then it's for you. It's atmospheric in every sense of the word.

just rewatched predators, its a good redemption to the AVP flops imo even though it pretty much mirrored the plot of predator(1987) on some levels.

This movie had everything. Gun fights, car chases, explosions, this one dude got his head blown off.

Yeah so maybe it was just about a guy stuck under a boulder. Still a good movie!

If I want to see a good movie I play "Mystic River" or "The green mile". Or anything with Christopher Walkens from the 90's. To be honest.. I do not know of any movie aside from some Pixar movies that has actually caught my attention as good storytelling. Plenty of fanservice, softcore porn, explosion and shock value movies. But storytelling is mostly dead.

Wow, OT are quite the fancy shmancy movie goers.

The Man From Nowhere looks FANTASTIC. Thank you for showing that to me. I'm going to find it tonight.

As for my most recent best movie, I don't even know. Probably the new Harry Potter movie. Absolutely fantastic IMO.

Also, I saw this months ago, but Wild Target is a great movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmS3ePcA6VU

The Stunt Man (1980) directed by Richard Rush stands out even among all the cl@ssic silent Russian films I've been watching lately.
