The point of this topic is of something that happend two weeks ago if you read the last part of the review you'll understand and I doubt this is an alt acc cause look at his lvl,btw you are late to the party....Viper_GTS-RThe point of the topic is silly, since the first thing he is ever saying on this site is "I have nothing else to say on this site." What a terrible loss?
I always came to this site when I was considering buying a new game. I noticed a while back that some of the scores didn't make sense, even counting for personal taste. I had my suspicions and upon reading about the controversey today, I feel somewhat vindicated. I read some of the video game reviews in Maxim and I wondered if the staff there even played the games they reviewed because they were so far off base. Now I come to understand someone from Maxim now has something to do with Gamespot.rabidcanaryWow, someone from one company now has something to do with another company? The lid has been blown off teh conspiracy!!!1!
Someone from a company that blatantly got paid for their reviews, including high scores for games that were not released yet, now has something to do with Gamespot.rabidcanaryWow, cool how much documented evidence you have for your claims :)

1UP confirms through their own source that Jeff Gerstmann was fired for his negative review of Eidos Interactive's Kane & Lynch.
According to 1UP, Gerstmann already came under fired from Sony for scoring Ratchet & Clank Future a 7.5, for which he as the (former) GameSpot editorial director was responsible for overseeing and defending. (Sony has just signed with GameSpot for new ad spots now that Gerstmann has been "dealt" with - link)
1UP's source also points to CNET's new management under the new executive VP Stephen Colvin as the real catalyst for the firing. Stephen Colvin is the former President/CEO of the company that runs Maxim and Stuff (those magazines with hot chicks that should be nude but are not); and back at Maxim and Stuff, the line between editorial and advertising is a bit more blurry... and Colvin is now running the show and trying to bring over some "changes" to GameSpot.
Allegedly, Josh Larson (the salesman/marketing guy/"suit" who replaced Greg Kasavin as the Executive Editor for GameSpot) suggested his subordinates that "'AAA' titles deserved more attention when they were being reviewed, which sounded to all of [the staff] that he was implying that they should get higher scores, especially since those titles are usually more highly advertised on [GameSpot] site."
A rookie I am not. I can GUARANTEE you that.
why do you link to a user review and not the one given by gamespot. go away rookie.tenorio_rotc

Not just *a* user review, but *his* user review :PThat was kinda the idea.rabidcanaryThat you really liked a game that got a good review (7.6 == "good" according to GS rankings)?
I really respect the fact that Gamespot has not deleted my post. I was laughing hard becausesomeone with a high post countcalled me a"Rookie". I'll just leave you with your video game site because how can I argue with some kid who sits at his computer and posts messages about videogames all day. I know when I'm beat........ but next time yousee a high review score for a hyped game that really wasn't that good, you'll say "Hmmmmmmmmmm".
Peace.
