Best Rock Band of all time?

I have to say that between the mid 80's to Mid 90's no one did in better then Metallica. Metallica in that time spam made just some of the most incredible and unique rock music that has ever been put out. I do not like their last few albums but their old stuff is just still incredible.

Ps. I don't consider the Beatles to be Rock

Led Zep, Black Sabbath, and Faith No More/Mr. Bungle. The last two are criminally underrated considering that I have yet to find any bands remotely like them and they influenced a ton of bands during the 90s.

Black Sabbath is easily my favorite metal band of all time. Zep is great. I just listened to The Real Thing this week for the first time in a while, and that really is a good album. Faith No More is definitely underrated.

In general, I'd say Sabbath, Floyd, Zeppelin, The Stones, The Kinks, The Stooges are in my top ten list. To say there is a "best" rock band of all time is impossible, unless you're strictly judging from album sales...in that case, it's The Beatles. Selling a lot of albums doesn't necessarily equate to being the best. For example, Michael Jackson sold a ton of records and I love his music, but as far as true artistic expression and talent goes, Stevie Wonder blows him out of the water.

The Allman Brothers Band. As I've said in a similiar thread, no one is as talented as they are in Blues or Rock. It's their live albums that just blow my mind.
