For those of you who listen to genres of music that include some/all screaming vocals.
What band would you say has the best.
I usually judge screaming by if i could do it myself.
With that said, in my opinion Greeley Esates had the best screaming.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I'm guessing you mean mainly higher pitched screaming so lower grunts are not an option then.
Well here's my list:
-Jari Maenpaa (Wintersun)
-Masha (Arkona)
-Thomas Väänänen (Thyrfing)
-Chrigel Glanzmann (Eluveitie)
-Vratyas Vakyas (Falkenbach)
-That guy from Equilibrium
can someone please explain to me how screaming in music is at all entertaining, soothing, or enjoyable? I mean, how can something so depressing and disturbing be enjoyable? I'm not trying to flame or anything, I'm just curious.amirbrandon
Screaming in music isn't really meant to be soothing...I can't come up for the word for it right now.
But, to generally answer your question, people have different tastes than you.

I think, when implemented properly, it provides very engaging and passionate energy.
No one would consider it 'soothing'. But entertaining and enjoyable are relative terms that can be measured individually based on opinion. See how that works?

Yeah, I don't see it.

It's called art. Is all art supposed to be happy and fun?
Your mom! I'm sorry I had to lol the other guy brought it up. On the main topic some old school Underoath, Parkway Drive, The Chariot, Norma Jean. TC are you looking for screamo bands? Because I keep on listing metalcore bands.jasonharris48
I agree with Parkway Drive. It think they have some of the most understandable screaming.

Once you listen to it for a while you get used to screams/growls and find it more listenable.
Although I do know a girl who listens to death metal and finds it to be relaxing and soothing to listen to.

But I can listen to scream, hardcore, death metal and etc. Because I bands, its something different to listen to and I love their lyrics in their songs. I'll put it like this a long as the lyrics are good and I can understand it I will listen to it.
Lead singer of Deftones has the best scream I've ever heard. It manages to avoid being a 'betch' scream.
It doesn't hurt that he's an amazing traditional vocalist too.
[QUOTE="bangell99"]That's gonna have to be Aleisha Keys.jasonharris48She's hot I would like to make her scream :D
Ooh you dirty b***ard! :P
She's decent-looking, but can't sing to save her life.
I would have to say for tone and alternation between the high and low, it would be a good guess to say Trevor Strnadt of The Black Dahlia Murder. For Pigsqueals would be Johnny Davy of Job for a Cowboy (Doom album was the only one he did it on) Cannibal Corpse's George Fisher also can be placed in the same spot as Trevor because George has a way of holding a loooooonng scream, and his high ones can be very blood curtling.

You're kidding right? She's one of the few artists around in the mainstream that can REALLY sing.

Let's take "No-one" for instance. During the chorus, she's just bloody shouting!
[QUOTE="aaronmullan"]Best Woman would be Angela Glossow
vespuche
Does she sing on the Rise of the Tyrant album?
Indeed.

"No one" wasn't a good song other than that she is a good singer. One of the few new school R&B artist that can really sing.[QUOTE="-Austin-"][QUOTE="airg6"]I would agree with alexisonfire. But id either say Howard Jones or jesse leach.airg6
For a metalcore band KSE is pretty awesome.
Their really the only good metalcore band.I guess so. Alot of "-core" bands come out of New England and I live in CT, so I guess I'll always have a soft spot for metalcore.
