best... sequel... ever?

pretty simple, I would like to know what in your opinion is the best sequel ever? it coudl either follow up a lackluster original or manage to top an already great original... anything along those lines.

IMO my personal entry for the best sequel is Spider-man 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxz4n2BxyUo), but the Godfather Part II and the Empire Strikes Back are surely contenders.

I was always torn on this one, because I loved aliens action approach but it wasnt as horror like as the first installment. James Cameron sure knows how to make sequels though.

In all honesty I really didn't care for #2. I just didn't get hooked like with the first one.

Anyways, my mentions are:

Evil Dead 2 (This movie is incredible and totally beats out the original IMO because of how insanely funny it is)

Terminator 2 (Still the only film in the series I really care for. Such a great movie)

The Dark Knight (Batman Begins was already great yet this one topped it in every way. Ledgers performance was absolutely incredible)

Ginger Snaps 2 (It took the story into a very interesting diection and was just top notch in general)

Terminator 2 had a chance at being the best sequel, but the ending ruined it for me - "I now know why you cry" FUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuu

I actually cared about The Terminator more in that movie, LOL.

Terminator 2, on top of my best movie list.

Terminator 2, Aliens, Toy Story 2, The Dark Knight, The Godfather Part II and The Empire Strikes Back where all sequels that managed to be as good as, if not better than the stellar originals.

That's what I liked about it, it was very focused. It didn't stray off what is was trying to convey. It was a visceral ride all the way.As for average, are you kidding? The Terminator is regarded by many to be a sci-fi c!assic, it's anything but average.

I cared more for the Terminator than I did for John in T2, that right there's a problem. I think T2 is a better film in the sense of a hollywood blockbuster, but think the original is a better film overall. Same with Alien over Aliens. Even though I prefer Aliens much more, I believe Alien to be the better picture.

The whole, "I know now why you cry, but it's something I can never do...." was ridiculous. It's a KILLING MACHINE. No realization. It doesn't feel pity, or fear, or remorse, and it will not sto.......well, you get the idea. Microprocessord controlled. DEATH.

Out of the top of my head, Road Warrior and Sanjuro.
