A couple of days ago I finished reading "The Sword Of Truth" Series, ever since then I haven't been able to concentrate or read another book, because I can't get the others out of my mind:? I don't know if this is a good thing or not. They are seriously the best books EVER!!! I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Any other fans of "The Sword of truth" series please post for I would love to have many conversations with people who think the same.

Also If anyone has any recommendations for me please post aswell. Must be Fantasy books thanks!;)

Never heard of "The Sword of Truth"... Anyway, if you like fantasy, try A Song of Ice and Fire (series), by George R. R. Martin. Also, if you haven't read it, read Lord of the Rings, right now. :P

what counts as a series exactly? Lord of the Rings is a great trilogy and all but is it really a series? Harry Potter can most certainly be considered a series because new adventures happen in each one.

A song of ice and fire is my favorite series ever, that and the book of the new sun, and the dark tower series. I think a song of ice and fire is better than lord of the rings imo.

Err, well, Lord of the Rings is technically one book that is broken into three volumes...

Oh, and another great series is The Dark Tower series (Stephen King).

I prefer LotR to ASoIaF, but both are amazing. Dark Tower is fantastic as well. I also forgot to list Isaac Asimov's Foundation series as well as his Robot Trilogy.

yeah I have heard good things about that one. I still reccomend the Animorphs simply because its actually a war story (and you can get them for free nowadays)

My favorite series would be the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. I haven't heard of the Sword of Truth series before though, and I read a lot of fantasy book series.

You should check out The Dark Tower. The first book is generally the one people like the least (although it was one of my favorites), so I would recommend reading the second one even if you don't like the first.

I've heard of "Sword of Truth." Bad things, mainly. I've heard that it's an objectivist tract even more ham-handed than Ayn Rand, that it's extremely preachy, that the author has a massive ego, and that the fandom between it and A Song of Ice and Fire absolutely hate each other.

Redwall was by far my favorite series as a kid; I've seen Brian Jacques twice at readings (once a year or two back when I was 17 or 18 lol :P:oops: ). It was so much better than Harry Potter in every way. Cloony the Scourge, Martin the Warrior, Badrang, Basil Stag Hare and all those other characters (across different novels) owned every character in Harry Potter easily.

I loved the hares in those novels. :D

You know, it's odd. I clicked on the title, and I thought to myself, "I wonder what book series it'll be?" and "Sword of Truth" popped into my head for some reason. Weird.

Ugh, Sword of Truth is horrible. A Song of Ice and Fire is far better; one of the best fantasies ever made. My favorite fantasy series (and series in general) is The Chronicles of Narnia.

Agreed, Redwall > Harry Potter. Jacques actually put the time and effort into making a constructed setting and world for the novels to take place in like tolkien. And the hares and badgers were BA.

Salamandastron was my fav.

You should've read the fifth one (Voyage of the Dawn Treader). I guarantee you'd like that one. It's probably the most "magical" of the seven books.

TVTropes disagree. The eighth book got alot of hate for what seemed to be endless preaching. Example being how Richard delivers a long speech promoting atheists and about how we cannot know what happens after death... despite having talked to ghosts himself. Who's the one talking, Richard or Terry?

Checked it out, Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind? Interesting... might check it out but I probably won't love it as much as the Shannara Series by Terry Brooks or the Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett... ...why are so many fantasy writers named Terry? Fake names? Oh, and Stephen King's Dark Tower Series is in my top 3 too.

I own every one of them hardcover, have read each one of them at least twice (except for the one that came out recently (think it's called Doomvyre) which my brother owns, I'll probably read it at some point, though), and read many of them five or more times. :P

The city watch books are definitely the best, though. Captain Carrot/Commander Vimes/Nobby Nobbs/Sgt. Colon/etc. never get old :P.

Fake names? Oh, and Stephen King's Dark Tower Series is in my top 3 too.chessmaster1989

Oh my, how the hell did I forget to mention Discworld. I've read everything in that series except for The Last Hero, so amazing. :D

The city watch books are definitely the best, though. Captain Carrot/Commander Vimes/Nobby Nobbs/Sgt. Colon/etc. never get old :P.

So many books I need to read. I need to read more.

[QUOTE="Dman0017"]

i used to like the series, but it drags out over about 14 books that are 500+ pages each.

Dman0017

Well its actually like 8 books of 750+ pages each but i think they are the best

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sword_of_Truth apparently its 11. i like them up until chain fire.

I like them all but they all got a bit boring after that one tbh:(

Checked it out, Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind? Interesting... might check it out but I probably won't love it as much as the Shannara Series by Terry Brooks or the Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett... ...why are so many fantasy writers named Terry? Fake names? Oh, and Stephen King's Dark Tower Series is in my top 3 too.Hungry_bunny
I know wierd that they all have the same name, plus they are like my top two: Terry Goodkind and Terry Pratchett:D
