Best song cover(s)?

There's been countless of 'em. Guns & Roses' "Knocking on Heavens Door", Mumford and Sons' "The Boxer", Green Day's "Like a Rolling Stone" and, of course, Kanye's "Bohemian Rhapsody"...

Personally I'd go with the Guns & Roses cover of Knocking on Heaven's Door I mentioned above. I gotta admit, I think Bob Dylan sucks; his voice is horrible and his guitar manages to be worse, but he wrote beautiful songs. In that sense, in my opinion, Guns & Roses added to the beautiful lyrics the things Dylan couldn't, which are a good guitar and decent vocals (f you don't like Axl's singing style that's a different story). The guitar solos are also beautiful.

As for my favourite cover, that's a hard one and one that changes a lot. At the moment this is probably my favourite cover.

Has nobody mentioned Korn's cover of Metallica's One? That's criminal, any of Korn's covers are great, as are Disturbed's and Johnny Cash covering Hurt

Sanford and Son is a tv show from a few decades ago, the 70s I think. Here is the theme song from the show.

The one that stands out in my mind the most, not only in terms of capturing the spirit of the original, but even going as far as surpassing it is Jeff Healey's cover of George Harrison's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

Yeah, it was from a few decades ago. I think you're older than me, but my father likes Sanford and Son so I've seen some episodes of it on TV Land and Youtube.
