The people who don't like The Empire Strikes back say its boring, but in the words of Harry Plinket "I'm affraid you missed the point".

I mean it tries too hard to come off as "dark" and "mature" but comes off as annoying.
Like what's the point of the training scenes with Luke and Yoda? Luke never learns anything, because he isn't willing to listen. It's a waste of time.
Actually Luke learns the most at that training scene. :|
Think about it. "Don't bring your weapons to the cave! Don't go to Bespin! Do not try, do it! Lift your ship from the water!" All Luke does is disobey and ask inane questions. He took his first step into a larger world on the Falcon, yet on Dagobah he already thinks he's on the summit.
And then you got that ridiculous lightsaber fight... why did Luke go after Vader when it was clear Boba Fett had Han Solo and Leia, and why didn't Vader just surround Luke with Stormtroopers?
