Which is your favourite Star Wars movie from I-VI excluding The Clone Wars?

Mine's III. I went to the midnight session at the LG IMAX in Darling Harbour, Sydney Australia. Wild night.

It's also because of the plot. It was a superb one with dark themes and suspense. It also had more planets such as Kyshykk.

Anyway, what's yours?

They're all equal for me. I just see 'Star Wars', not Epi. I-VI.

Empire Strikes Back is the best out of the 6. Phantom Menace was trash, Clones had its moments, Sith was good at times but there were parts that were god awful. New Hope was a good beginning and I dont care if thats technically not the first one in the order of the movies now its still the first one ever released. Jedi was ok. I am not a huge Star Wars fan, overall I find the films rather dull (I only state that as I don't want to debate why I felt this way about the movies, I just watched them I dident study them)

why. His order is pretty spot on in general I do disagree and would switch a couple around. You are the one who said Sith was the best easily. While thats the best of the new trilogy the old trilogy trumps it in every way imaginable.

Yeah, I just found it funny someone liked The Phantom Menace the best followed by Attack of the Clones. Not saying it's stupid or anything, but I just never thought I'd see that.

The original and empire are the only good ones imo.. All the others pretty much suck.. I was really disappointed by return of the jedi, I just felt it ended so.. bleh, and it just rehashed the original in so many ways

A lot of people say the decline of Star Wars happened with the Phantom Menace, but I say it happened with the Ewoks!

3 and 2 are the least awful, but I think all the SW movies are pretty damn bad TBH. (I like the books based on them, however, I just can't stand the movies)

Return of the Jedi is my favorite. People like to complain that it has plot elements from the first one (Tatooine, Death Star 2), but that's the beauty of it, how the final chapter comes full circle with a definitive conclusion. I like all the rest as well.

I've heard the tele show is quite good, but the film was one of the worst I've ever seen :?

George Lucas needs to lay the franchise to rest

My personal favorite is Jedi, I like the lightsaber fight and space battle, and the premise of the ground battle even if Ewoks are ****ing weak. I can't defend it against Empire on any level other than personal preference, though, Empire was amazing. Also, I-III are not Star Wars movies. Hayden Christiansen never acted in a Star Wars movie, George Lucas did not write tedious, plodding scripts with bad bad dialogue filled with"far too many, "how rude," jokes, he did not put flashy CGI ahead of story, and he did not turn the entire franchise into a premise for a children's cartoon show with major marketing implications. IT DID NOT HAPPEN, LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!!!!

I mean it tries too hard to come off as "dark" and "mature" but comes off as annoying.

Like what's the point of the training scenes with Luke and Yoda? Luke never learns anything, because he isn't willing to listen. It's a waste of time.

Yes, and they are Hayden Christiansen's acting, Jake Lloyd's acting, and George Lucas' dialogue writing skills.

Think about it. "Don't bring your weapons to the cave! Don't go to Bespin! Do not try, do it! Lift your ship from the water!" All Luke does is disobey and ask inane questions. He took his first step into a larger world on the Falcon, yet on Dagobah he already thinks he's on the summit.

And then you got that ridiculous lightsaber fight... why did Luke go after Vader when it was clear Boba Fett had Han Solo and Leia, and why didn't Vader just surround Luke with Stormtroopers?

Purists would generally plump for Empire Strikes Back. Personally I enjoyed all the 3 originals, but Luke's an annoying petulant child in the first one for a while with lines like "Aw but I was going into Toshi Station to pick up some powerconverters!". That kinda puts me off a little...
