I am 16 and am thinking about getting a job. Whats the best type of job out there for someone my age?

What kind of jobs you guys have?

what else can a teenager get but a fast-food job...you might be able to get a retail job as a cashier, less work then a fast food job

Man that would a horrible job. Having to get up early in the morning and walk around in the freezing cold. No thank you.

Thats what I'm thinking. Besides Bag boy, gas pumper guy(gas jockey??) or fast food there isn't much out there.

Yeah, for really bad pay too. I work at a local supermarket part-time while studying. Best job.

So retail sounds a popular choice. Which would be better a grocery store or a store like Best Buy?

I know I could get a job at a grocery store but what kinda positions would a best buy have that are suitable for a teenager?

Something other than a fast food place. Remember that. Work somewhere that you like. If you're into gaming see if you could get a job at a gaming store. Or something like that.

You have to be at least 18 to be allowed to be a cashier. Anyway, one of best best jobs to get at your age is a bagger at a grocery store. Depending on what area of the country you live in, you should work at a major grocery store (example Albertsons West Coast; Jewel for the Midwest).

Oh yeah, if you have any job experience, wether it's volunteer stuff or job training, it would make it mush easier for you to get your first job, but it's completely optional.

They pay pretty well at my local amusement park, Paramount's Great America. You get like 9.50 an hour working at those booth games where you win stuffed animals by throwing a bean back at milk bottled.

If you live anywhere near an airport, look into air cargo. Money and excercise all rolled into a nice, loud,  sweaty, oily ball....

Around where i live a 13-year old can get a job as a little-league umpire.  It's seasonal work (only spring and summer), but once you get to the higher levels its the best paying job around.

I'd say Starbucks. Even though it can get hectic at times, they do offer a sort of scholarship program that'll help pay for college. (assuming you do plan to go to college)

Retail. You should be able to work at most jobs now. A lot of employers take 16 year olds as long as there isn't like anything "dangerous" in the work place.
