Thats not what I'm saying at all. I think girls would like someone who looks like them so they will feel better about themselves (they would see that person as attractive surely).

Every friday night the local mall is the "hangout" for the "Goth/Emo/Punk" type kids so we all go up there and I was hanging out with a friend and back then my girlfriend and her were friends so I started talking to her and fell flat on my face for her :lol:

It's not all that important, since what matters more is how attractive you perceive your partner. It doesn't matter if you look nothing like them, as long as there is mutual attraction, it will work.

As for me, my girlfriend and me look different enough to dispel any "are you siblings?" questions, but there's undeniably many similarities in our physical appearance.

I read that too. The study talked about how we are inclined to find people who exemplify our aesthetic traits or that of our parents (depending on your gender).

And yes physical looks is always an important factor in finding someone. Its just that each individual has their own standards.
